I was actually thinking of that comparison. Good one. What was really frustrating is that the Fins wouldn't get a quality running back for Marino which is my opinion why he never won a ring. Others have stated Marino didn't want a quality RB.

Frank’s and Immaturity are synonymous, but just get us through this year and maybe there’s consistency on the sideline in waiting. He can take a lick though, that keeps him a Gator worth supporting.

DGD, would you really be shocked if some of those fans did boo him because he was black? There used to be a pretty good group of Gator boosters/Bull gators who were from Southern Farming/Agriculture money.

That is probably true but the message from Freeman was to indict the entire fan base by playing the well worn race card instead of acknowledging the fact that Leak was very "timid" when running which hurt the team in key situations.
The joke was on us because Freeman parlayed his hate approach into a national sports job.

Freeman is a joke, but from the area I grew up. Leak's race was brought up plenty, some of those bringing it up were boosters. They were quick to blame his timidiness on his race. Not a good white Christian like Wuerfell or a good white country boy like Bell.

Really, I would think the Leak booing was for “consistently” sliding short or running out of bounds prior to reaching the sticks instead of the pounding it through ala Tebow. Likewise, I was happy, cheering and beaming with pride when Chris was hoisting the NC Trophy. To me, he did a better job running deeper in the season but geez, give the pocket passer a little slack, acclimating to giving the body up, lol. Go Gators!

I for one would never Boo my own team and believe the people that do should be called out.
I think the repercussion in recruiting and negative press (and their was plenty this week) is a steep price to pay. Not to mention the head game it plays with the player your Booing.
The people doing this are not helping this team or future teams. The only positive thing I can think of is at least your sorry a$$ was at the game.

Well, we certainly wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
The recruiting myths grow every year. Someone always claims that negative posts on message boards like this hurt recruiting, now I've been informed that booing at games hurts recruiting. I don't believe either one of them for a nanosecond. If a prospect is basing his decisions on things like that, then go somewhere else.
