Miles hasn't been hired because he's perceived as having a cap, albeit a pretty high one, and he's older and he'll demand top money.

Plus his offenses are downright boring.

If I were Les Miles I'd get an OC like Kerwin Bell and let it rip.

Then you wouldn't be Les Miles. Miles is who he is and Michigan/Schembeckler guy. So that is what he had success with and thus that is what he runs.

It takes a rare guy to play for a conservative coach like Neyland, coach under a guy like Dodd and then unleash Steve Spurrier and John Reaves on college football as Ray Graves did. I guess it was partly the rules changes some, but Graves is the rare exception of a coach not going with the style they learned early in their career.

Miles is still a good administrator. It is sad when they can't change with this times.

Kinda reminds me of Tom Landry...now I am dating myself

Miles did LSU proud. Publicly he was funny, upbeat. His LSU teams slugged it out in the extra tuff SEC west. His teams over the years gave Alabama its toughest games. He's got plenty of NFL alumni that would vouch for his coaching mastery.

What leaves me puzzled about CFB administrators is the absence of thinking out of the box. Go back to when Miles was a sputtering Cessna. Cannot the AD gather a brain trust, meet with Miles, present his verge of firing, and say here's a set of assistant HC/OC we think could inject new life into our program. Study them. Interview them. Jive with one and let's move LSU forward. It seems they only know to throw the baby out with the dirty bathwater.

Good guy. No BS. He loved LSU unabashedly. He was a player's and a fan's coach. He also got a ring. His downfall was playing in Saban's division and bizarro LSU AD/Administration. He was literally LSU's Spurrier. The perfect coach for the school.
His downfall was his inability to develop a passing game.

Less Miles was very mediocre at ok state. The love he gets from some of you guys is unreal. His entire offense was dive left and five right. I've never seen a luckier prick coaching football in my life.

Miles seldom if ever had a passer who was worth a hoot. Saban didn't either, but at least his guys could occasionally find the open man downfield when the defense tried to collapse on the run game.

I was very careful in my comments to not praise his actual coaching ability, which is certainly debatable.

Have you checked his record at Purdue anytime recent? He's barely above .500 operating out of an engineering school. Louisville would amount to a favorable reset.
Man, you are spiraling done.

Les Miles is trash. The fact that no one has even talked to him and that Kansas is the only possibility says it all.

Kansas needs an offensive HC. They need someone from the Texas Tech / Mike Leach coaching tree.
