Perine isn’t a bell cow. For comparison: Guice had almost 100 more carries in 2 years at LSU than Perine has had all 3 years to date. He’s not a feature back and doesn’t have that kind of wear and tear. Still don’t think he leaves.

Perine might leave because of financial circumstances. From what I remember he had to take the bus down to Gainesville to visit the Gators. No matter what round he gets drafted, it's money in his pockets. None of us know whether he goes or not. Not like we're winning a championship next year. Now if he promised his mamma he's getting that degree before he leaves for the NFL and he won't have it by May next year then that changes things. But we seem to want at least one RB this year.

I misread it. Thought you said he was gone and we only have Davis and Pierce back.

And again. Antony-Richards is quoted as saying we are selling the Percy position. I’m sure others have different names for it. Specifically that’s what he sells it as. It’s not hard to follow along. Stop trying to spin it. You are wrong.

You’re the one immediately dropping personal attacks. You’re a sensationalist who is anything but positive. I could give a shyt less about what you do for a living your opinion is worth as much as a corn kernel in my stool. You must be a big man trying to use what I said in PM against me in public.

I didn’t say it wasn’t important. I said it’s one of the last things I’d worry about in a class that is beyond mediocre right now. We will more than likely get Wright, and no need to frantically add someone who won’t perform if we miss on Sanders.

I said we would have Perine (my opinion), Pierce, Davis, possibly Wright, as well as Toney and Copeland being used as a utility player. Feel free to go back and read what I said.

I’d prefer them worry about safeties than expanding the RB board

DJ Williams is one I wouldn’t mind us pressing for if we miss on Sanders though

First of all I don't think we want a Percy type player to be getting 83 carries unless it was Percy himself and was a threat to take it to the house every time. For the same reason we don't want a Tim Tebow running the ball. The RBs will stop coming and so would the WR. We want a QB that will run it but not at Tebow's levels. Somebody that is threat to run but will not take too many carries away from the RBs. People also forget that the reason Percy had the success he had was that we had a very good OL that opened gaping holes for him. Of course he had to make the MLB and safeties miss but the hole had to be there. Is our OL at that level yet? I don't think so. Will it be at that level next year? Maybe, maybe not.

Regardless of what it's called ("Percy Position" or whatever), Toney (or any player like him in the future) should be getting the ball more than 1.8 carries/game. I think that was a stubborn mistake Mullen made early on (as it seems Toney's touches have increased the last few weeks). Toney should be getting 5+ carries/game and another 3+ touches.

And on the Tebow comment, I firmly disagree. For this offense to succeed, we NEED another Tebow to walk through that door. Sure, there's only one Tim Tebow....but we need a QB that is a mixture of Tebow, Newton, Smith, and Dak. Yes, I'd prefer the QB not to have 20 carries/game....but I'd like to see 8 to 10. Simply put, if the QB is a threat to run, it makes this offense more successful.

Beating them goes a long way. Think it locks down Fuller and Hunter and gets Lucas to seriously think about it as well. They’re gonna lose Dent to Bama. Their class will be the drizzling shyts when it’s all said and done (with a loss to us)

All of their commits committed during the preseason hype (except for Cross I think). Wouldn’t be surprised if cross leaves too

Correct me if I’m way off, but during the ugaly game I saw DM use EJ on the edge while the RBs were the power runner option between the tackles. I would hope that means DM is willing to do that on a regular basis if he’s got a fast QB and thick RBs that warrant the switch.

Well, EJ weighs 195lbs. Tebow weighed 245.

Well duh. My point is DM showed a willingness to reverse the roles to fit the personnel. Will he do it full time? IDK.

It was 5 plays.

Ideally he could do both. I imagine EJ is quicker than a Tebow type QB and has the potential to break some long runs (more so than a Tebow type). Tebow was almost a guaranteed 2 to 3 yards (except on 4th down vs. Ole Miss). So that's a benefit of a big, powerful QB. Hopefully EJ (and Jalon) keep getting bigger. I would imagine EJ will be well over 200lbs by next fall. Jalon is already 205+ and has the frame to add a lot more (I see him at 225+ by his 2nd season).

I agree on 8 to 10 but not 20. I want my QB to be a bit more speedy than Tebow and Dak, like Jalon Jones. I like Trey Sanders because he's a large sturdy RB with a 4.5 speed. I don't want Tebow's 3.8 yds per carry of 2008. I want people running the ball to have breakaway speed and the OL to open the holes for them. I want my QBs to pass the ball 25-30 times a game.
As far as Toney is concerned, he needed to actually learn the plays as in which route he was supposed to be running and actually run it, sight adjustments to his route, where the blocking is going to come from, the timing of the routes and hand offs. When I played FB/HB in high school. It was amazing how many times our RB got there before the QB was ready to hand him the ball.

Any good? I know where I can get a couple old bottles

I’m going to wait til after signing day to have an opinion but the slow start is worriesome. There’s lots of flip potential out there

regardless, this still feels very butterish. The results may end up different, but the same feeling right now

Yeah. I think Perine has a high likelihood of leaving. It’s very rare for running back to stick around to their senior year.

If he can’t leave this year. He’ll more than likely never Play in the NFL.
