If they are allowed to touch US soil, they will never leave.

Why can't the tent cities be set up in Mexico?

(This discussion needs to be in this thread since it's not about the "anchor babies" issue.)

Me thinks we may be having a communication problem.

In a last-ditch effort to engage in logical discourse, let me state my opinions clearly.

Issue #1 in every sane illegal immigration is border security. We must be able to stop people from crossing the border. So far, we've not done an effective job of that. Wall, technology, troops, whatever is necessary to do the job.

A related issue is a "caravan" of people who have expressed the intent to invade our country's borders. Under no circumstances should they be permitted to enter this country. If their feet land on US soil, they'll never leave. We don't need tents, unless it's for our own personnel's comfort. The cost of deploying the military to secure the border is a necessary expense, and should be considered an investment toward not having to spend further funds supporting the people who come here illegally.

We need to inform Mexico, since it's that country that we share that southern border with, that those people are their problem. We can assist them in various negotiated ways, maybe setup tents on their soil, but anything less does not motivate the Mexican government to stop future endeavors of this nature.

IF, as we already do, find ourselves with illegal immigrants in custody, then they need to be processed according to current law.

      I agree.

But the issue is what to do NOW.

We need a wall, fence, barrier...etc.

All I am saying is for the ones that get through...we can detain them on US soil without calling it a prison.

Helmet even suggetsed "Work Camp". That may be perceived as "Work makes you free" (Look it up)

Most are coming for Jobs. If you kept them from making money for 2-3 years, I dare say they would STOP coming.

      Again...What are their ROE?

      Can they shoot?

      Military cannot arrest non-millitary.

They may look impressive but these illegals will be coached on what they (the military) can and can't do. The ACLU will be waiting.

All I am saying is Trump needs to be ready to change things legally BEFORE they get here.

Agreed but I don't see how we keep them in Mexico?

I've thought for a while now that we should have a military base on the border where we train our troupes. Large groups of military training down there should be a good deterrent and could save money since we spend it to train people anyway.

Put 'em all in camps like we did with the Vietnamese and then Cubans at Ft Chaffee, AR (see Scarface).

Until we make Mexico do what Canada does now (THEY hold "asylum" seekers in THEIR country while we process the case, but not house the people), puttin' 'em in tents with wire around it (instead of releasing into the US with a court date and a cell phone... yes, we give ALL of them cell phones) until we send 90%+ back is the way to go. They don't need air conditioning, they didn't have it in Honduras.

Ultimately I have no way to know who PMd what to each other 17 years ago but in my dealings with GJ that would have been completely out of character. I always found him very civil, as I often disagreed with him on issues. I traded PMs with him a few times.

Abortion is a very emotional issue for people and it is pretty much impossible for people to discuss.

I think it was suspected it was budvol who called his employer but he didn't know for sure. Could have been Reb.

multiple online news sources reporting an initial wave made it to the san diego/mexico border at the shoreline and a few dozen traversed the fence with cameras rolling... but the MSM still claiming they are "thousands of miles away" and pose zero threat to the US.

              Good times.
