Maybe Stricklin is working on getting the money right now!

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- New Florida athletics director Scott Stricklin is on a tour of the state to meet with top boosters as the Gators begin a major round of fundraising to begin improving facilities once again.

Already in the works are more than $100 million worth of upgrades, including a stand-alone football facility, as well as major renovations to the baseball and softball stadiums. To that end, Stricklin is meeting with major boosters and pitching them on the future of Florida athletics.

"We've got to keep pushing," Stricklin said to a group of high-dollar boosters, according to the team's website. "We exist on our campus to create an experience for all the different constituents of the university. It's so important we create an experience for you where you want to come back and stay connected."

Stricklin took over for Florida athletics director Jeremy Foley on Nov. 1. He has spoken at some length about his desires to modernize the athletics program in several ways, with a focus on facilities.

On top of facilities, though, off-the-field staff for football will likely be expanded under Stricklin's watch. Coach Jim McElwain has been a big proponent of increased support from the administration, so watching what Florida does moving forward will be interesting.

In any case, it's clear Stricklin feels the need to push the envelope. His tour to meet with top boosters around the state should only help. You can take a look at what Stricklin's selling to them in a piece penned by the athletic association here.

And why would Head coaches come too.
Apples and oranges my man. It's one thing to board a ship being captained by an incompetent bum. It's quite another to to be given the keys and the captains hat and told you're in charge. The vast majority of situations involving a head 'anything' hire aren't because the last guy was doing a bang up job and left a great situation.

Yep...we should of went ahead and got it done when we had the chance. Yet...Mac wanted to wait until the playoffs we're over out of respect for Saban :rolleyes3: Like Saban won't piss in his face and stab him in the back the first chance he gets...idiot!

I sincerely hope the worst for the Bama program. I'm talking multiple violations and the death penalty -- literal death penalty.

This has been my biggest fear... If Saban really wants to keep him... he is going to stay with Saban and we are screwed. Mac better have a backup plan and it better be good....
Well...we have a staff full of backup plans and how's that worked out for us? We needed homerun hires not some more bums nobody has heard of!

It's looking more and more like Mac can't beat Saban on the field, with recruits, or with coaching hires. f me:banghead:

I'd say Gray was a great hire and that was his last one. He needs to find a way to get this done. We haven't heard we got him, but we haven't heard anything from Bama saying he has been promoted either... so hopefully there is a chance!

"Looking" Naw...those are all facts! Saban will continue to bend "McButtersWorth" over and take his $hit every time they meet up!

Everybody wants Mac fired yesterday but they think good coaches should come here knowing Mac is on the hot seat.
