Mullen isn't going to make it if he doesn't get some recruiters on staff. The 2018 season isn't going to help for 2020 recruiting either since the offense will probably be mediocre again. After Macs crappy classes this 2019 class could be an early death blow.

we've got skill position players for days, but if the on-field product is going to make the brand appealing to recruits in wait-and-see mode, EJ has to burst on the scene, like NOW, and the OL has to find ... something that allows the offense to function or all the talent at other positions will be wasted cuz no one will get the ball. same old story.

franks is a lost cause. he's as sharp as a tennis ball.

we either see trask throwing with ej coming in to run, or ej taking the reins full time. and it has to work one way or the other. maybe that gets sanders and others on board.

otherwise we're a perennial 7-9 win also ran until mullen gives way to a successor, who at least will step into a better situation than the one left by that nut McInsane.

Bullshyt. He was not offered a recruiting coordinator position or he would have stayed. His bio is still up for some reason and it clearly says just TE coach. https://floridagators.com/coaches.aspx?rc=660

How's that Larry Scott the Florida ties recruiter thing going for you?

Tell me when Knox had a decent special teams? Knox is trash. Knox has actually coached TEs in the past btw. We could have easily left him at TEs and STs.

It's kind of hard to sell that "we've got a great staff bullshtt" when we're behind Duke in recruiting. (Note they are probably still better than Butter's collection of geographic school rejects.)

Three years from now we will undoubtedly look at these assistant coach decisions as what got Cousin Eddie fired. He wanted guys he knew. He got them.

Knox was a WR coach under Tommy Tuberville for 13 years and a RB coach since 2009. In that role he has had multiple 100 yard rushers that went on to the NFL. Ever since he started coaching special teams in 2014, MSU ranks first in the SEC in blocked kicks and punts with 14, including two last season by Jeffery Simmons at Louisiana Tech in Week 2. Overall, that tally is third in the nation since 2014. He is involved in the recruiting of the following prospects:
Zipperer, Sropsher, Trey Sander, Emery, Mingo, Kimbrough, Marks.

I don’t give a **** if he’s right. Relentless redundancy gets old. Come up with something new.

Donkey posts more than the rest of the board combined. Get up in the middle of the night to take a dump and you’ll see him on here arguing with himself. He never takes a break. Never.

Huh? He's an excellent RB and special teams coach. As far as his recruiting goes, we'll see. He recruited well for MSU.

You call landing a single Rivals blue chip RB in the last 9 years good recruiting?

What other position did he recruit as Miss State just got Rivals 3 stars at RB almost entirely. D linemen and LB is where MSU seemed to get the blue chippers they got mostly.

He’s one of the good “insiders” or whatever you want to call it. He was very tight with Charlie Strong so when he took the Texas job Scout moved Higdon from UF to TX so a lot of people forgot about him or don’t know him. He came back to UF a bit last year after Strong took the USF job.
He did get owned by Bill Sikes trying to say stars didn't matter just look at the draft.

Didn’t really follow that so I’ll take your word. I was referring to his coverage of the individuals and reporting fairly with no pumping.

If he recruits worse than mac it isnt a better situation

Aren’t coaches assigned to an area, not just a position? Doc Holiday and Sieder pulled in talent from both sides of the ball.

Not sure what the deal was at Miss State considering the state they are in - just curious here because they weren't pulling in top RB recruits and seemed to be getting most of their blue chippers at LB and D line in recent years. It seems he can coach players up but it might be the case he isn't a good recruiter.

I see some articles from years ago trying to give Knox credit for blue chip recruits but it seems to name all their blue chippers and most of those players have no recruiter at MSU listed it seems. Maybe MSU considers it a team recruiting job or something but at Knox's actual position responsibility they literally weren't pulling any blue chippers.

Am I understanding this correctly? I am gone for two weeks and we don't have even one new commitment!
Two weeks,

Two months,

Same song.

Don't worry. We have plenty of silent commits who are coming in August.
