Taylor's Stock Soars

When Fred Taylor got 27 NFL scouts and others to thumb their stopwatches and drop their jaws last month, the simultaneous click of their timepieces might as well have been the cha-ching of NFL cash registers.

Taylor, the former University of Florida thoroughbred, is about to become a wealthy man.

``They know what I can do now,'' Taylor, the 6-foot-1, 229-pounder, said after blazing the most pressure-packed 40 yards of his life in 4.38 seconds (on grass). He ran a 4.42 on turf at the combine in Indianapolis. ``Now, I just have to wait.''

The wait is almost over. Since his workout nearly six weeks ago, Taylor's stock has skyrocketed.

He was the best running back innthe SEC he was always going high was my point. He was a first rounder even if he sat out the combines.

But counselor, I said top 10 and I stand by that. That was one of first and only times I really paid attention to the Draft. He was a late 1st to early 2nd. Some where still concerned about the Pizza/credit card issue, but character wasn't as big in play like today. But I would say that most considered him #20 or higher.

The point being that there is a huge difference between #20 and #9. Basically running 4.4 at his size is ridiculous. So transfer that to Perine. If he were to run a sub 4.5 time, I think he'd really rise in the rankings. Not 1st round and maybe not 2nd day, but he'd make someone a very nice value pick in the mid rounds.

Yes, a lot of time. But kid was all-state as a soph. Kid is good. just need him to stick

That's the key....and the reason I really don't care about 2021 yet. The 2020 kids likely stick, but 2021 is a LOOOONGGG way off for a HS sophomore.
