Or in the case that has been with this staff, being told they will be let go, so transfer to give themselves an opportunity. One thing this staff has done better than even Meyer is stay right at the 85 and over limit. Meyer was usually a few players short of the number, now you could make an argument that not the same quality of talent (which I would agree). And some of this is due to the poor creation and application of the 2020 exemptions. But The staff since year one has been telling kids that were on the fringe they need to go elsewhere.

I used to keep a detailed depth chart of the full roster throughout the SOS-Zook-Meyer eras. Meyer inked exceeded 80 one year, as I recall. He was usually 76-78, which I thought was like a self-imposed probation level.

So you're telling us there's a chance?

These "grades" kill me. Is some asshat watching film and assigning some very specific grade to a way a guy is blocking?

"Fred, you got this guy at a 71.2, but what I see is a 77.89! You are underrating him!"

Yep. Basically.

They grade every single play for every player and give them an overall score. The grade is based on the outcome of the play (specifically the outcome for that player, not everyone else) compared up what you would normally expect.

Some flaws are they don't necessarily know what the play call is (if they think they aren't sure they don't grade the play), and they don't really factor in the strength of the opponent.
