It's definitely a reach. You're hoping for a situation like Condon over on the basketball team. That's a kid that played Australian rules football until he got too tall, and made a very late switch to basketball. He's definitely been a surprise as to how much he's been able to contribute. You could contrast that with a similar guy on the football team in Kamryn Waites who got a little too heavy to be a basketball player and made a late switch to football. Billy took him as a project at Louisiana (where there's a lot more room for projects) and while he's seen the field I'd say the results have been underwhelming.
I get it, BUT KW plays! He has two more years and it's clear he is not going back to the portal. I believe he will contribute a lot to the OL this season and might be a starter next season. He is worth the "reach".

Beginning in the 22/23 athletic year they started increasing their recruiting expenses for football.

UF athletics boosts recruiting spending

The Gators made a significant investment in recruiting for all sports in 2022-23, spending $4,563,927, compared to $2,966,896 the year before.

The biggest beneficiary was football, which increased its recruiting spending by 78 percent, from $1,641,320 to $2,892,538.

Florida also spent more in men's basketball recruiting ($329,395 to $389,749) and women's basketball recruiting ($220,427 to $293,837).

UF is hopeful that the boost in recruiting spending will result in better results in the standings. In men's basketball, Florida has already won five more games in 2023-24 than it did in 2022-23 and is on the verge of reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021.

That 78% increase didn't seem to help with the 24 class.

UF is only spending 90K more on men's basketball recruiting than women's?

:wtf:

Women's basketball loses tons of money. Tons. The UF recruiting budget for that sport should be somewhere between 8 and 15 bucks.

I mean seriously, nearly 300K? On WHAT? Scouting lowly high school girls basketball games for the next girl with a 1.5" vertical? It's beyond belief.

I’ve never seen the media push so hard for a sport like they do for women’s college basketball. Well, other than the women’s national soccer team. I’ll bet they’ve gained dozens of fans with that multimillion dollar marketing campaign.

Ok. I have a dog named Tater and he is getting mad at the reference.
For his mental well-being, you might want to let your dog Tater choose a new name. Cuz the beatings will not stop until morale improves.

("The dog formerly known as Tater" would not be a good choice.)

their QB went to play for the other clown at Mizzou.
The clown at Mizzu was undefeated vs our clown in the Sunbelt and is 1-1 vs Cajun Taggart at Mizzu.

What does that make our clown exactly?
