Coach Mac:

Overall record: 22-11
SEC record: 16-7

Wins over top 10 opponents:

Win over #3 Ole Miss (2015)

Coach Zook:

Overall record: 23-14
SEC record: 16-8

Wins over top 10 opponents:

Win over #4 Tenn (2002)
Win over #5 Georgia (2002 - only loss for Georgia that season)
Win over # 4 Georgia (2003)
Win over #6 LSU (2003 - LSU National Championship that year)
Win over #10 FSU (2004 - first road win over FSU in 18 years)
------------------------------------------

Looks like records are getting pretty similar and one coach had way more big wins than the other one. Zook had his Mississippi school problem.

'bubble screen' revisited with affection... that alone shows you what a crap show we have in Gainesville these days.

Zook got the hook because the new president wanted his buddy Urban Meyer as UF's HBC.
Remember, he's the guy that told Spurrier to "submit his resume" when Steve asked
for his old job back. Steve's response? "My resume are all those SEC trophy's sitting on your desk!"

What Mac's running here, he ran at Bama. It can work if:

a) You have the right personnel, particularly a dominating offensive line. We don't.
b) You have a competent quarterback who can read the field and make purposeful throws where necessary. We don't.
c) You need experienced and/or well coached receivers who run disciplined routes. We don't.
d) You have to limit the mistakes. We don't.
e) You combine it with a suffocating defense and competent special teams. We have neither.

Out of time, out of mind.

Yep Foley would have found a way to screw that hire up probably if he was the one actually making that decision. Machen was an a** however.

Hard to argue with all that.

Fools gold, what McElwain was running at UAL was for a head coach who demanded excellence or he would get rid of you. That bears no similarities to the mess McElwain is making here.

Machen was a disaster at UF in many ways and why UF would hire a guy from University of Utah as its president is beyond me. Still Zook was a dead man walking from the time he tried to get himself arrest outside a frat house on.

You can not allow your team to start behaving like a street gang on a college campus. Middle and upper class parents are who you are trying to get to send their children to you. They do not send their children to places with street gangs.

Even putting Mac's name in the same sentence with Zook, is an insult to Zook.

Which is why I qualified each comment with "we don't."

Zook at least looked like he cared on the sideline and post game... Mac looks 1 tablet away from a Xanax overdose.

Zook was head and shoulders better than Mac in everything except for the way he conducted himself off the field.
