I have ductless AC, I keep it at 69 in the living room and colder than that in the bedrooms. Winter, we have a gas furnace, and I keep it cool (because I have a cheap gene) around 66 day time and 63 when we go to bed. We use a small space heater in the bedroom that goes on and off. Electric bill in the summer is usually under $100, gas bill is $33 in the summer & around $75-100+ in the winter. In the shoulder seasons our electric bill is usually under $60. It averaged $77/mo last 12 months (I know this because we're selling). When we move to Florida, I imagine we'll keep it a bit warmer (to avoid big electric bills).

Apple’s weather app won’t say it’s 69 degrees

If you’re an iPhone user, the weather is always a particularly nice 70 degrees. Or 68 degrees. Any temperature but 69 degrees, actually, because it turns out that the built-in weather app on some versions of iOS — including the current version, iOS 14.6 — will refuse to display the internet’s favorite number, even if the actual temperature in a given location is, in fact, 69 degrees, along with several other (less meme-able) numerals like 65 and 71 degrees.

If I were to have a say in it, 72-73. I do not have a say in it.

wife sets it for 69, 68 when I’m not looking.

her mom has moved in now, and had kept her house at 62. Retiree in a ranch on a slab can do that. Not in my house.

Our house can be on 76-78 during the day and still cool well enough. However at night, since our second child was born, my wife sets it to Antarctica temperatures and then uses 12 blankets.

Don’t have AC. We have tons of trees for shade and live in Seattle. We keep our heat at 66 when here in the day, 62 at night.

Mrs. Nalt controls our heat/cooling systems with an iron fist. She keeps it cold all year long. My only reprieve so far has been this summer and the summers of 2019 and 2020. The HVAC unit for most of our main living quarters has been inoperable for cooling. It still heats what little she will let it so that's a plus...

My understanding is that even if you wanted to fix your unit, it would take months to potentially get major parts for HVAC. Same sort of story for new vehicles.

We had an HVAC guy inspect our system. He thinks there is a blockage "somewhere within the system." He thinks that we need to replace the system including the copper lines going to the unit underneath the house as opposed to trying to locate and repair the blockage.

In the summer the AC is set to 76 during the day, 66 at night.
:
In the winter the heat is set to 60 overnight and 70 during the day.
:
Let’s not forget bedroom windows are open over night all year.
