Well our guys had a great run and this is not the tread to complain about the refs. But when you need a break from the pumpers v. the negators accusations in all the other threads come here and discuss:

    1. who goes pro, Robinson I think, Allen up in the air, and Egbunu is really up in the air with his injury.

    2. who commits to UF for the early signing period this summer.

    3. do all the recuits get in

    4. does UF find room for a graduate transfer

    5. the 2017-18 schedule as it is announced

and anything else that anyone can think of or that comes up pertaining to UF basketball.

D-Rob returns, Allen & Cheese run the offense with Egbunu holding the post. Book it.

      1. Robinson leaves, everyone else stays

      2. Too early to tell but Weaver, Little/Moore, and Williams looks nice right now...if we lose a couple more next year we could have an even better class potentially

      3. Yes

      4. Probably not unless we lose some unexpected early or to a transfer

      5. Gonna be a tough non conference schedule again...Probably going to have Duke as well

      Potential lineup:

      Chiozza 6'0
      Allen 6'2
      Hudson 6'6
      Stone 6'8
      Egbunu/Hayes 6'11/6'9

      Bench

      Hester
      Okauru
      Johnson
      Ballard
      Stokes
      Gak
      Bassett (might transfer...total guess)

Hopefully Hayes bulks up if Egbunu leaves or can't play at all die to his injury

Man I really hope Eggy can overcome the injury quick, he seems to put in a lot of hard work just looking at his physique (pause).

If we get him back at full strength, we are going to be a load to deal with inside. Eggy, Hayes, Gak, Stokes(if he's anything like his brother). Regardless, good times ahead!

Hayes needs to put on some weight and work on strengthening his hands from now until November.

Stokes isn't much like his brother. He is more of a cross between Jared Sullinger, Glen Davis, and Bonzie Colson....more of the Glen Davis hops then Colson

DRob could leave but shouldn't. He's just not ready. Egbunu and Allen won't leave.

I think the future is bright.

Someone has to leave...we are over 1 scholarship...so unless someone takes a walkon or transfers...someone has to leave...I guess it's possible they let Okauru leave because he hasn't signed....Lots of movement left before next season

Well he is big bodied like his brother, just hope he knows how to position and play smart like him. I'll take a Sullinger/Davis type though

He is big that's for sure...was playing this year around 290 lbs...mostly because he was still trying to play D1 football as a lineman. I expect him to be around 250-270 next year...much bigger than his brother though. Not a lot of hops but uses his size well, can dribble and pass great for a big man...leads the fast break as well...very skilled for his size, looking forward to him the most right now out of the freshman

I agree but folks leave for a variety of bad reasons. DRob had one great game now if he took over today and we won that would have been some evidence that he was ready. If he values an education and his team mates he might come back with an insurance policy. Lots of work to do in the off season. We need an inside offense from more than one person, we need better three point shooting, and probably need to practice both doing and defeating those zone defenses that we have had so much trouble with.

After watching D-Rob today I would recommend he stays put as a Gator. He has NBA length and size but he has very little heart. Today was a good example , I'm surprised but not every team in East Tenn State. With that said I don't watch the NBA and surprised by them not taking Scottie or Pat!

Drob has a huge problem creating his own offense. Has to get better off the dribble and scoring down low. He did say after the game that the loss could motivate him to come back, but he hadn't made up his mind...to me that means he is gone, but had to answer a tough question about the loss

Robinson can create his own shot in the NBA. Robinson like Parsons has issues playing 3 guard teams in the NCAA. Robinson will gain nothing staying at UF. Remember he prepped. Draftexpress says he is 22.1 years old. It is not or never for the NBA for him.

Nothing but a degree, perhaps a championship, another year playing with most of his team. No no money but perhaps things that money can't buy.

Stone, with the playing-time experience of DRob, as a junior (sophomore next year), will contribute more to us winning than DRob ever has. Next, Hudson as next year's starter, White's given him not an ounce of experience on the court?
Yeah, I hope Hayes puts on = 2 inches of weight. Hope stretching rehab adds an inch or two more to Egbunu - I want an "unfair advantage" next season. Hope Chiozza works himself into a deadly 3-pt shooter to go with a "drive-by" dish-off man. Hope White develops us a deep bench to give guys a rest. Hope White perfects a screen-clearing offense for 3 point shooters like K. Allen, Hester, etc.

I know the NBA highly values "upside" but I am curious as to whether Robinson would be drafted? Are his skills sufficient that a team would take him based on potential or as Insti said, do his skills better translate to the NBA? I just don't see him making a pro roster at this stage.

I am in a show me mode on Hudson. At Va Tech Husdon was a player whose FR and Soph years were:

                      FR: 16.7 min, 6.9 points, 2.0 rebs, 1.2 assists, 1.6 TOs, 57% on 2s, 28.3% on 3s, 64.4% on FTs, 98.7 offensive rating, 109.0 defensive rating, 16 PER, 20.2 TO%
                      Soph: 20.0 min, 8.4 points, 2.3 rebs, 0.6 assist, 1.4 TOs, 42.8% on 2s, 34.6% on 3s, 68% on FTs, 96.1 offensive rating, 106.1 defensive rating, 11.8 PER, 14.3 TO%

and you can go on with mediocre advanced stats. I am not sure what this guy is good at. His stats make him appear to be a selfish 2 guard who would be a disaster at UF. No UF player had a defensive rating of over 100 this year. Only Hill and Gak had offensive ratings under 100.

Buzz Williams is a decent coach, if he could not find a role for this guy who I doubt is as good as Allen and Hester, I am not sure what he will do for UF. I like Stone much better at the 3 next year.

Was Buzz the coach when he was there?

Either way they were beyond crowded at the guard spot and they were playing everyone about the same min...can't get into a rthym playing sporadic min because there are 6 other guards getting the same min. IMO he will be a star and just needed to get out of a log jam that wasn't being managed properly

Shockingly Buzz Williams has been there 3 seasons now. So he recruited Hudson. Barry maybe couldn't get into rhythm at UF this year, but he used his minutes to good advantage and pressured his coach to play him more. Hudson used his minutes to hog te ball as far as his stats indicate.

As far as a crowd at the 2/3 slots, Hudson needs to be better than all but one of Allen, Hester, Stone, Ballard and maybe Johnson to start for UF. And if he is to start at the 3, he needs to REBOUND the ball some.
