It is weird to watch every thread no matter the subject or where it starts to always end up at the same place. If it's Flynn's lying it's Hillaries lying, if it's Weisteins sexual harrassment it's Hillaries attack on the women who accused Bill, If it's a Franken's abuse of women it's somehow Trumps fault....No matter who does what it just seems every bit of misbehavior by either side is the opposites sides fault. After a while it makes it not any fun to participate in because it borders on ridiculous. It's not Mike's fault that Mike lied to the FBI. No, it's all partisan finger pointing. It really is ok to say I am on team X but I think team X could have handled issue z better.

Flynn should not have lied to the FBI especially since it does not look like that is a crime. It's the cover up that is the crime. Not his discussion with Russia but perjury in lying to the FBI. Whether anything comes of it we will see. Trump fired him for "lying to the vice president" now he wants to rewrite history and say it was because he lied to the VP PLUS the FBI, which he could not have known of course. Just like he wants to re-write history of the access Hollywood tape which he once admitted to and is now faked.

There are so many real issues, North Korea being the one that most has my attention. I wish we could focus on issues, immigration, tax reform, foreign policy from Isis to North Korea, healthcare, the deficit, prison reform....nope sideline baloney. I would imagine we look mickey mouse to a foreign country watching this whole thing. It's a circus.

Lying to the FBI is a crime. Pretty sure you don't even have to be under oath to get that charge. They love that charge in witch hunts like these. It is crazy they many times get nailed for lying about something that was a legal activity anyway.

If the two colluding parties ever allowed us to stop slinging mud at each other, and focus solely on their gross failures as elected officials, the wealthy of this country would be overthrown in a heartbeat, and they will never allow that to happen. Thus you get people in the media creating the CNN/MSNBC vs FOX so we get two adversarial sets of brain washed zombies spewing the party lines rather than thinking about how they are being used and abused.

    Let the slinging continue.....

Of course lying to the FBI is a crime. So is mishandling classified materials. That point I was trying to make before was that Flynn, as an acknowledged Obama critic, should have expected everything he said and did to be under utmost scrutiny. And it is worth contrasting that with Hillary Clinton who was exonerated from her crimes of mishandling classified materials well before her pro forma FBI interview.

Our system of justice is based on starting with a finding that there is probable cause that a crime was committed and then investigating to see if that is the case and, if so, who is responsible. The Mueller-style special prosecutor turns that on its head -- an investigation is launched without any probable cause of a crime to see if some crimes of political enemies can be shaken out.

The exact same process was used against Scooter Libby who was found to have lied in an investigation that was supposed to be looking at who leaked Valarie Plame's name to the media (it was Richard Armitage and that was known early on). But the special prosecutor needed to have a scalp or two -- he wanted Karl Rove or Dick Cheney but got Libby instead. The Fitzgerald fishing expedition cost a total of $2.6 million -- Mueller has already burned through $5 million, almost twice as much and he isn't close to finished.

By the way, many people liken the Mueller fishing expedition to the Ken Starr investigation of various Clinton crimes but there is a big difference. Every expansion of Starr's scope of activities was approved by a panel of Federal judges. Mueller is under no such constraint.

Pathological. She stayed in an abusive relationship too long and now it's all our fault.

    Sure focus on the issues.

North Korea can not be allowed to have weapons of mass destruction and the means to deliver them against the US. No matter the cost.

Our economy must grow at over 3% producing jobs and reducing welfare costs.

Our military needs to be restored and have the resources to achieve the goals that we desire.

Our borders must be properly maintained, not only physically but against those who overstay their visas and those illegals currently here. Some will get to stay with a green card, some might become citizens if they really want to support the constitution and be citizens, not just for a job. We will need accommodations for temporary workers as well.

Our infrastructure, roads, bridges, ports, etc. need massive repairs and improvements. Pay for them with user based taxes and fees. Internet can and should be private, not public at the federal level.

Our health insurance system needs massive changes eliminating the ACA and its expensive requirements. At the same time actual health care needs massive improvements which almost nobody talks about.

Our federal government needs to be re-engineered to be smaller, more focused on federal responsibilities, and more effective in doing their proper role.

I could go on but congress and our current political system is incapable of dealing with any of this. They barely passed tax reform that is urgently needed. They are so focused on their power and their party that they are less than worthless.

We allow a special prosecutor to run wild outside the areas where they were to investigate, with no oversight, budget, or time frame to deliver. We focus on the president's methods not his policies. We argue over clothing, Christmas decorations, going to parties, and that journalists are so interested in their bias that they basically lie and spin all the time.

A constitutional convention is the only way to address this but educated people tell me that is impossible.

Fortunately I can avoid most of these idiotic things except the emotional reaction that I have that our once great country will never be such again.

The wealthy won't be over thrown, since they are not totally in control here, that is just a biased point of view. Otherwise very good comments.

Correct, you don’t have to be under oath. They told me not to lie in my interviews, I was never “mirandized.” Ya don’t lie to them (and I didn’t). Questioning can really piss you off (because my questions clearly came from interview with partner that went to prison), and they’ll give you the “we know, but we have to ask” look, but you tell truth, no matter how painful, or they’ll hammer you.

That is a very naive view. I think Hillary knew what she was getting into very early and made a trade-off between conjugal loyalty and power and money.

When Gary Hart got caught with his girl friend on the Risky Business, his wife left him and both rapidly descended into irrelevance.

Hillary held on through the Lewinsky scandal (one of many) and was ultimately rewarded with a US Senate seat, a position as Secretary of State, $200 million or so in influence peddling and overpriced speeches and a $300 million war chest in the family crime operation.

Actually all the issues mentioned in the OP are without a doubt the fault of the Clinton's and carried to another level by Obummer....The real problem is the Communist/Socialist movement that started in the 50's and 60's has p vssified enough of the population to go along with what is openly wrong....Namely the Clinton's social behavior and whoring out of America's economy and Obummer's blatant racism and full charge to lead us into Socialism for the benefit of global Elitist..... It's pretty clear cut if you ask me.

Or don't remember well enough to answer to the FBI which is basically under oath no matter what some might think. Everyone who is educated should know that.

Said who? I stayed because I wanted my kids to be in an intact home, because I made a commitment to God in a sacramental marriage, and because like many women thought if I could be everything he wanted, be more perfect the abuse would stop. When he broke my nose I realized I had to leave. That is on noone but me. But know that women do not stay because they like abuse, they stay for a variety of reasons. I also knew he would not support us until court ordered to do so and I was not sure how I could support three kids under five with daycare on a nurses salary. And in fact I had to get public assistance to survive for a year, unbelievably humiliating for a person with an education and a job. Where do you guys get this stuff?

What I know is because I survived it, because I after years of counseling understand why I stayed and women do in general, and because men in general don't get it.... that I have an obligation not matter how much sh.t I take for it to educate ignorant men who judge women with wrong assumptions about the reality of DV. You seem awfully threatened by a woman who has grown a backbone.
