My favorite is a quote that I sincerely believe was not intentionally ironic.
After two or three years of reversing the trend of the 70s and 80s by beating UGA, a reporter posed this question to the HBC during the week before the cocktail party.
Reporter: "Coach, Georgia leads the all time series by 20 wins. Do you think UF will ever catch up?"
Spurrier: "I don't know. Twenty years is a long time to coach football."
He just assumed he would never lose. 11-1 against UGA is one the most treasured aspects of his legacy, imo.
Where are we at? Approximately 6 or 7 wins behind? I don’t care if uga counts the unofficial win, they should be embarrassed that our Gators have closed the gap that much. Would love to see DM continue what SOS and meyer started.
