He noticed the third baseman was about 20-30 feet off the bag and looking at home, as well as the catcher was still out of sorts from the slide. I’m thinking he figured he could sneak over to third in the confusion. Coaches definitely didn’t send him, you can briefly see him make up his mind to do it in the original camera angle.

I really wish Mick was still doing baseball so we could have heard his call on the HR.

        Agreed.

Jeff does a great job, but I don't like Steve Russell at all.

For those of us that don't watch much baseball, thank you to those who post clips of the key plays. From what ya'll are describing, I may get the boy to watch a replay of this one with me.

Feel bad for the AU outfielder, but fk him.

I was not watching, it could have been an out but that would have meant a very great play by Auburn. We are going to need much better play if we will earn another title.

I was all excited to hear his call. I found the clip, but I didn't hear Mick and I was disappointed. But Cordozo's Lang with a Bang was pretty good. Still I wanted to hear Mick lose his mind again.

Auburn had some insane diving catches. If you can catch some highlight clips I highly suggest it.

Just like last year, at this stage of the game it is great pitching and timely hitting that gets us to the CWS once again for the 7th time in the last 9 years. It doesn't look like much of anyone is giving Sully credit for turning this program around and obviously the great job he has done this year to get this team this far being ranked #1 all year. If you remember in 2006-07, how difficult it was for the basketball team to go Back 2 Back. Every team gave us their best shot all year especially in the post season and winning the title wasn't as nearly as easy as the first one. What a job Sully has done this year and what he has meant to this baseball program is something special. To go to the CWS 7 times under him when in the History of UF baseball we had only been 5 times is something remarkable. Getting to the CWS is very difficult year in and year out or else you would see the same exact teams EVERY year but you just don't. UF only had 10 SEC regular season Titles before Sully. He has gotten us 5 more thus far. We have also won 2 SEC Tourney Titles under Sully. We only had 5 before him. Florida Baseball is here to stay under Sully. In Sully we Trust! Go Gators!!

Don't think there was any doubt the ball was over the fence. He had to jump with arm extended to get a glove on it..

From the rest of your post, it appears he did indeed turn the program around...or, if not 'around' at least raised it to a championship level. Though with this many appearances and titles, I suspect a more accurate descriptor would no longer be 'turning around' but sustaining a championship level ala Saban. Both are tremendous achievements by any coach, not all can do both in terms of raising a program and staying at the top. He definitely earned the kudos he deserves.

That call to steal home was ballsy. And necessary.

That called steal home play is something Sully has ALWAYS done every year. Sully has raised our program and kept it at the top. In College Baseball you want to go to the CWS every year and he has done that more than in coach in our baseball history. Its so hard to get to the CWS and winning it all is so difficult too. Go Gators!!

Exactly. But I don't know if he's ever called for it in this situation. Possible last game of the season, tie game.

                          I'll research it.....

Great and gritty win. Auburn played about as well as they could and really had the Gators in trouble. Sully earned his salary on the steal of home. He knew that the big hits were not coming and he had to get a run. Big gamble that paid off.
I underestimated how much the Gators would miss Schwartz. Without his bat opposing pitchers can work around India and take their chances with Dalton and the rest of the line up. If JJ is healthy India and others will get better pitches and the whole lineup should benefit. The key is whether he is ready to hit.

I had to watch some of the game with the sound off. I cannot stand Perez. He has in my opinion a terrible voice compounded by his Nole history. Nowkhah is a little better but still bad.

I don't see a real dominant team in the CWS and if the Gators can loosen up and play smart they can do some damage. Really need a healthy JJ.

                              Go Gators !

The guy had about 3 feet before the fence, he wasn't pulling anything back. He should have caught that ball and we got a luck break Canseco's head style!
