In the world of the Democratic party, is that considered better or worse than being a draft dodger?

I think it's the equivalent to taking the Fifth after insinuating you have a bad leg.

I'm sure our military would love to serve under this guy.

Do you think they'd want to serve under Donald Trump? I mean you surely have to consider his military record superb, right?

These a-holes who stand up on stage and talk about wanting a strong military and not having America back down. Which of them has actually served? Easy to put someone else's ass on the line.

It doesn't matter if they served or not. Reagan barely served, and they loved him. It's about being proud of this country and loving the military, something Trump has in spades. Bernie and Hillary do not. They loathe the military, and our soldiers damn well know it.

Hates the military, or hates the fact that we play world police with every country that has oil? Because I love our military and our service members, but we have so much unnecessary military action around the world it's nauseating. Vietnam is obviously the biggest example of "what in the actual f*ck were we doing over there?"

Easy to question our involvement 50 years after the fact. Vietnam was part of a containment policy aimed at stopping the spread of communism, which at the time was viewed by Republicans and Democrats alike as a global threat to freedom. Good thing Reagan stepped up our military presence and helped bring down the Berlin Wall and Iron Curtain. Maybe Bernie could take a cue.

I guess no one "questioned" the "facts" about Viet Nam till now? It WAS viewed as a containment policy (dominos anyone) (as fckdup as that was) and it was soon apparent to anyone with sense it was a clstrfck that never needed to happen or continue as long as it did. But I guess as you say "thank God for ronny for saving us from the commies"..........smh

Yeah I'm not sure how much our military presence had to do with the USSR dissolving and tearing down the Berlin Wall. That was an inevitable conclusion. Their economy fell apart, the government was historically corrupt and people found out about it, they got into a never-ending war with Afghanistan (sound familiar?), they spent far too much on their military (sound familiar?), and people got sick of it. Then the republics started breaking away and the whole thing collapsed. The Berlin Wall coming down was also an inevitable conclusion. It's not like we rolled a fleet of tanks through Berlin and tore it down ourselves.

Vietnam was never going to be a threat to us, just like North Korea will never be a threat to us. Let them rot. Or better yet, let someone else go play world police. We have enough problems here that need solving before we go sending our boys to die for someone else's cause.

Or we could keep spending gazillions on military excursions all over the world and maintain the status quo. That has worked so well.

I utterly hate when people say stupid sh** like this.

Do you think communism is sustainable? That's very much implied in your statement. The Soviet Union started collapsing in the late 70s. Reagan may have hastened its decline by a decade, but it was happening regardless of whether it was Reagan or Cindy Bammer in office.

You have to believe one of two things:

          1. Communism isn't sustainable
          2. Communism is a viable economic alternative and it needed an outside force to cause its implosion.

Please let me know which one you believe!

Hillary is actually one of the most hawkish candidates out there; she has proven she loves international excursions.

I pointed out his CO status several times a few months ago after he got all "chicken hawk" about ISIS.

It was only after the Soviet Union disintegrated that liberals started talking about how the decline in Communist had been inevitable all along. Prior to that, no liberal ever predicted the kind of end to the cold war that came about.

As as the experience in Libya shows, her instincts are completely and utterly wrong.
