JUCO level talent at OL, QB, interior DL, LB, and safety will get you the 2-3 win season we are about to experience this year and maybe next.

Half the offensive playbook is dormant because we don't have a QB or offensive line.

Mac's lack of ability to recruit and develop, especially on defense, is now beating us around the head and shoulders.

UK pushed us 5 yds downfield every play. We got pushed two yards back every play on offense.

Toney, Pierce, and Perine need a ton more touches. Time for Dan to get ruthless with players and coaches.

Can't argue with any of that.

@Swamp Donkey *****ed all year about shytty LB’s and Safeties. And...he was right. Deal with it.

I thought Scarlett would be better but Perine clearly has better vision. Time for a change.

Ivey has no business at LT and Johnson has no business starting.

Our LB’s can’t tackle for shyt, our Safeties let people behind them. How many passes did Cleveland drop.

Franks is improved and really the least of our concerns. Which is really weird to say.

8 months of lifting weights doesn’t make up for 3 years of yoga.

Only pissed at Mullen for not running the ball more, not playing Perine more, and starting Ivey at LT. Grantham can EABOD.

Last night Franks was what we've seen last year, and like many have said, he is what he is. He is still behind the game mentally when the pressure is on. But the real shocker is the total collapse of both O and D lines, they were non-existent, from the stands I started concentrating on them just to see how they both could be wiped out immediately. I mean these are big guys that all the reports say are fast and have new muscle, yada yada. Both of our lines, EVERY PLAYER got his azz whipped on every snap. This is where the game was lost and many more to come. It's shocking, but our linemen simply cannot play SEC football. When you get beotch-slapped by KY and are so pitiful at the job you've been practicing for years that you cannot respond - the team is dead in the water. I realistically don't know who we can beat that isn't a paid patsy. CSU is a paid patsy and they may bend us over the stump too. Any real team will for sure. Like all of Gator Nation today, I'm very disappointed. But, life goes on, like it has the last 10 dreadful years.

Some of you don’t understand cause and effect I guess. 3 years of well below average recruiting has caught up. The effect is that we can’t beat teams like Kentucky at Home. No safeties, no db depth, no linebackers, d line is consensus 3 stars across the board. Oline is awful. It is what it is. Really wonder if they’re struggling mightily with the run game in practice, more than we are seeing in the games. I’m perplexed on why we are pass heavy with a mediocre qb and a huge stable of running backs.

How many times did we have them 3rd down and the QB drops back to pass and gets outside the pocket and runs for 1st down? Must’ve happened at least 4-5 times.

I’m more for Davis getting the bulk of the carriers, but your right, Scarlett needs to be shuffled back in the rotation and give other guys more of a featured role.

Yeah either. JUst seemed like Perine was playing a little better, but both far better than Scarlett

Stoops right away used his highly effective offensive weapon, Snell. Usng Snell, UK kept drives alive, kept momentum with Kentucky. In contrast, Mullen postponed using our best offensive weapons, M.Davis & K.Toney. Thus UF grasped no momentum to maintain drives, to score TDs.

As mentioned already, our OL and our DL got pushed around. No DLineman penetrated, no DLineman caused QB hurries, no sacks. At the snap, our DL guys all got pushed backwards.

Our OL guys failed to open holes or failed to give Franks the time he needed to pass with authority.

So now comes the musterbation week, where Mullen and crew jack up their effectiveness, in both O & D. They learn how to rely on new athletes D.Pierce, K.Toney, Malik Davis moreso than the bland Scarlett. = we've got creative work to do. This is where growth and development must occur.

Scarlett is letting a big opportunity slip away if he doesn't stop dancing at the line and RUN THE DAMN BALL. Right now Pierce is our best runner - a North-South horse with legs like tree trunks

So you’re only pissed at Mullenz for mismanaging the play calling, the roster management by playing and sticking with the wrong guys, and for his crappy assistant coaches? The only thing you left out is him being almost catatonic at halftime and completely unable to make adjustments, and his sh*t recruiting. Put it all together and and you pretty much have the entire package making him bottom 2 or 3 worst coaches in the SEC.

All the pumping in the world won’t change the fact Mullen will leave here with a worse record than Chimp and Stain short of a miracle. On the bright side, we will crush CSU next week so get ready to get your pump on and lay the points. Or if you really want to feel better go read MSU’s forums. Bet they are really lamenting the day they lost Danny boy.

Last night was an utter **** show. I expected a bad season but had a glimmer of hope after last week, but it was a mirage. Every position had problems. I think there is no saving grace for Franks. He made several bad decisions that far outweighed any positives. Bad throws that could have changed the game if they were remotely accurate. Mullen looked like an idiot at halftime.

I didn’t get excited with the Mullen hire but it will still take at least two years to know if he can do any better than MSU. I am just not optimistic for the next couple of years. And, for the record, Mullen isn’t going anywhere for a while unless someone can get him to claim death threats.

I’m all for getting Davis and Pierce more carries, but I can’t pin the abysmal rushing numbers on any RB. Our OL opened little to no holes until UK went soft on the 99 yard drive.

It won’t matter who is back there if our OL gets zero push.

Oh, and Fred Johnson just ain’t it. Gotta find a replacement ASAP

Edit: I will 100% pin Scarlett’s two drops on him. We can’t be sending Scarlett and Raymond out on routes especially when we have better options in Davis/Perine and any other TE

While I’m at it...call me crazy but I don’t think Franks was the issue either. I thought he looked pretty good in the first half, we just had A) no run game and B) multiple dropped passes.

Second half it looked like he was pressing and trying to force balls. As he is still relatively young, this should not be unexpected. Bottom line is he needs more help (heck, he was our leading rusher  )

He isn't good but he was much less of an issue than OL, DL (DEs mostly), LB and safeties.

His looping delivery is still a huge liability despite his slightly better accuracy and decision making (and neither of those are close to good, just a little better). His delivery lead directly to the final play fumble.

Crazy. I get it, he is by far not the only problem, but he is a major problem and I don’t believe he will get much better.

Our community sprung up when the Gatorsports message board was shut down in the summer of 2014. We pride ourselves on offering Gator-biased, yet critical discussion among people of all different backgrounds. We are working every day to make sure our community is the best Gator message board you will find.

The management works very hard to make sure the community is running the best software, best designs, and all the other bells and whistles. Care to buy us a non-alcoholic Zima? We'd really appreciate it! Just click the "Donate" tab at the top of the page.
