Pretty much nailed it.
I was there.......it happened 87 times. And then later he started hitting passes on 3rd and LOOOONGGGG
He had no help yesterday from OL, RBs and WRs. We knew going into the season we couldn’t put a game on his shoulders, and yet that’s exactly what we tried doing last night.
3rd and Grantham. It is his signature.
Thank you cover 2 for two weeks of work. I agree it is all about the big boys in the SEC.
Not sure we set the edge once on those plays. That’s also why I don’t put a ton of stock in the FG call. Even if we’d been given the 3, AND converted for 2, they immediately marched straight down the field on a “must stop” drive for us when we knew they’d be running. If they needed 3 to win the game, I have no doubt they would’ve gotten it. If not, it would’ve just forced OT and put us all in bed later, just as disappointed as we are now.
i dont know if its been said, but to me this hurts the most because the game last week more than met my expectations . i expected more growth from there and we went splat. everything regressed. even if we somehow squeaked out a win. we honestly looked pathetic in every aspect ( except maybe low amount of penalties) what ever they do next week will be empty knowing beatdowns are coming with our remaining schedule
Did the D line shed any blocks or make any tackles of note? LBs on milk cartons. It seems when we ran some quick hitters with toney Mo picked up but then we would run the exact same series without mixing and matching the pieces. Toney was open early on almost every play he was in, but FF wasn’t seeing it pre-snap. Clearly we are not going to get any O line push this year, so we are back to a lot of WR screens/slants, but we can use those to open other pass plays and the running game. While I wanted to believe n FF, he could easily have had 4 picks yesterday. Staring into double coverage and then throwing late. At least they were too hot for the D to handle. D, I don’t know, they were the most inept I have seen in a long time, no edge control, too many people upfield and thus no containment. Regarding Nebraska, longest road trip of my life in a broken down motor home...I had repressed that memory.. Scariest part to me was that Mullen had that same shell shocked look that Mac had last year. I hope they quickly pull it all together. Go Gators
Welcome to Mullen ball. Remember when I said we coud be in trouble with this UK squad and the team might not be focused, already seeing this as a win after the first week dance party? We will win by 3-4 TD next week. That's what Mullenz does.
Now im getting ready for the dolphins nightmare season kickoff. Wish me luck
We were beat by a JUCO QB making his first start. Let that sink in.
I think its impossible to really overstate just how much of a hole that Butters and Foley put this program in. Our talent level is the lowest I can ever remember and our facilities and overall football atmosphere have made it damn near impossible to correct that crucial part of the equation. I don't know if we are ever going to get back to the Spurrier/Meyer level in my lifetime. For those who think its as simple as getting a better coach, I don't see a better coach who is available and even if he were I don't see this program replacing Mullen any time soon. He is going to be here for years and by that I don't mean 3 years I mean 5-6 minimum. So buckle up buttercup.
Newbie here. The only one positive thing from last night was my father wasn't with me to see it. My father passed away this past February and watching the game isn't the same without him. If he was still alive, I would have been looking for a new tv. The man was passionate about his beloved gators. The last thing my dad said to me was,"Son, I am glad they got rid of 3 star general. I just hope Dan isn't one too." I hope you guys don't mind me joining in the talk. I just wanna to be in group that reminds me of my father. Ok, now that's over, I am so disappointed with the lost. Since, we have been playing like we are in the 70's can someone tell me where I can get a polyester leisure suit?
I’ll say this - I’d rather have Mullen and staff with our boys than that Clown Taggart and all that talent in Trailerhassee. We can correct some of the mistakes, move some personnel around, and better utilize our RBs and WRs... but the nulls are now saddled with a few years of Willie Ball with an expensive buyout. String together a couple of good recruiting classes here and we’re back to at least a level of respectability. I’m looking forward to seeing how Mullen and crew adjust and come out against the Rams next week. This might be a good barometer for how the rest of the season goes. (Anyone heard from NV this morning? I’m a little worried about him )
I’m sure most of you saw the interview with Spurrier in the booth during the first half. One of those dildos beside him asked what would it take for Mullen to turn it around. He said he’s got to recruit. Recruit like Alabama and Georgia. He knows that’s the shortcoming of this team. I wish I had the time, but I would like to research the recruitment of UK’s O line for the past, say, 3-4 years. Basically what number of “stars” signed. Could be telling.
My condolences. I mean it - really.
Welcome, padre! With “pastor” in your name, I thought it important to point out that if you can get past the gruff and sometimes crude exterior, we’ve got a pretty fun group here. Enjoy!
2 games coached. It’s beyond impressive that people like you have made it into adulthood. He was left a roster void of talent and enthusiasm. This team is filled with pvssies. Recruit over every last one of them. We aren’t winning jack any time soon and it’s 99.9% Macs and Foley’s fault. But I agree with anyone who thinks the game plan was lousy. No rhythm, rotated too many backs, too cute playcalling. But things like this make some of it make sense:
Welcome. New blood, gator fans, always welcome. Sorry about your dad but at least he was spared last night. I just imagine someone who passed away just before the Spurrier era and never knew winning football at UF.
Charleston Southern is garbage and no one should have taken anything from that game. They were a tomato can...fodder.
