I will have to look into it again but didn't that have something to do with trying to force more left wing crap down our throat with the regulations.

:dunno: Perhaps you are right here... But, how does getting charged a premium for streaming services benefit anyone? I am seriously asking for you to educate me on this.

I don't like the government sticking their noses into what should be between a legitimate business and it's customers. Now illegal activity, sure, but not legal business transactions.

And consumers, the online companies say, may see their costs go up if, for example, they want high-quality access to popular websites like Netflix, a company that depends on fast connections for its streaming videos. Netflix said on Tuesday that it opposed Mr. Pai’s proposal.

The action “represents the end of net neutrality as we know it and defies the will of millions of Americans,” said Michael Beckerman, chief executive of the Internet Association, a lobbying group that represents Google, Facebook, Amazon and other tech companies."

If I invent the super duper absorbent tampon that never has to be changed, does that mean I get to make a law 20 years later that says, "I invented this, so I expect to be allowed to personally examine every woman's vagina that uses my product to make sure she's using it properly"?

"When you get on the internet, if you don't have net neutrality, they're going to throttle certain services that are not their's," Calacanis said. "So Verizon, which as you know, now has Yahoo, might make Google slower, or they could even charge you to access Google. And a company like Netflix or YouTube, they would be killed by Verizon — they would be killed by AT&T and Comcast. ... You cannot trust large companies to do the right thing."

And you can't invent a million laws to combat it. It just makes everyone mired in the muck, hurts stockholders, hurts companies, and the government can't give compensation by way of taxation on people who pay more. That is just plain silly. If you can afford more, because you worked hard and were more educated or entrepreneurial to get better online access well then you earned better access. You are paying for it after all. Do you want an excise tax on more expensive cars, or bigger homes?

And BTW I sometimes agree with you. I am asking you to think this through.

Here's a start with an objective view. It doesn't take a side, just explains. As a general rule, I think anything that comes from the government with words like "Affordable," "Reform," "Protection," "Comprehensive," "Neutrality"... should make you question what it really is very, very deeply.

Don’t you always have to pay for premium services ?
