The Bucs were semi-likable with Dungy as coach and McKay as GM in spite of a pair of prominent Noles on the roster, Brooks and Dunn, who were both really good people. That mojo probably would have maintained itself had Dungy and McKay stayed.
Gruden was possibly the most overrated coach of the past quarter century. His decision to deactivate Keyshawn Johnson contributed to McKay's departure and the guy Gruden personally tabbed to replace him, Bruce Allen, was a total stiff. The Glazer brothers, who were goo-goo eyed for Gruden the moment he set foot in One Buc Place, just sat there and let it happen.
It's been shytsville for them ever since.
