That is not a argument about why I should not received SS after paying my whole life into it. There is no logic to it.

Don’t worry, you’ll be wildly successful by the time it’s time for you to draw what you believe is yours, but also by then, the powers that be will have means tested you out of what’s yours because you don’t need it.

As for “logic” and Social Security, that’s cute.

So you only want white conservatves to collect social security. You just should have stated this up front. Then I wouldn't have argued with you.

I don't agree with means testing at all.

Doesn’t matter what you agree with, what matters is what we are obviously moving towards. The cult think here is that it’s your money.

I agree. If they want to cash me out of.SS with interest, I'm cool with that.

Well then the youngsters will have to pay for me. It's either or. Old people vote. That is why SS is a political rail.

Yes, it’s always “either or”... until they change the rules... again, and again, and...

    Not your money Av.

It's a tax like any other. Plain old general revenue.

And its going to hit insolvency around 2034 (depending on who you believe).

So, at that time, they're either going to pay everybody less...or they're going to cherry pick and cut some people a lot more than others.

You're a liberal democrat Av. You're all about taking from the rich (like you) and giving it to the poor. So why not means test Social Security? That would just make it another welfare program and liberal democrats love welfare programs. Why are rich people like you so greedy? What's wrong with the privileged 1% like you giving a little more to help the little guy who doesn't have as much? YOU SUPPORT WELFARE! So why are you being such a greedy republican about your social security?

Did you support the republican plan to allow younger citizens to privately invest some of their own social security contributions?

C'mon man. Social Security is a rip off. Imagine somebody trying to sell it to you on the open market. You'd laugh in his face.

    "Wait, what's my ROI?"
"And if I get run over by a truck tomorrow, the government gets to keep it all? It doesn't go to my kids?"
"And you can decide how much to give me and how much of it to tax whenever you feel like it?"
"And it might not even be there at all?"
    "Fcuk outta here"

    Alex.

Or maybe just people who actually contribute to it, right?

Corporations can keep SALT deductions but for individuals it goes away. Why is that? Yay middle class!!

Haven't looked in the last week but the Senate bill allowed up to $10K in property tax write off....which is aimed right at the lower and middle class housing price range......

You can't be that clueless. Businesses get to deduct all sorts of expenses that individuals don't, e.g. rent, electricity.

First you tell us that you founded a school, they you tell us you're heading for the C-suite, they you tell us you started construction on a pipeline to run the Koch brothers out of business and now you show us you have zero understanding of the tax code.

And up to 500000 in mortgage interest deduction. That goes a long way here in Florida, not so far in CA, NY, NJ. Between the 10000 salt limit and mortgage interest limit, plus taking away exemptions, ouch. But perhaps we don't consider people who have half million dollar mortgages and those who pay over 10000 in salt taxes "middle class".
