It was more like from about 12-18 but it was heady stuff...........big fish in a very small pond. You want I should lie about the good old days,........you realize the further back the good old days get the gooder they were............

He wanted the UF job badly after Graves and ALL the players wanted him. Even had some protest actions with Carlos Alvarez involved (no suprise as the Cuban Comet became a very big lawyer in Tallacrappy i believe ) In retrospect Gene may have done well. Doug started behind the 8ball and never seemed to escape it. Nice man though.
