Per ESPN, Frost adamantly shot down the rumor that he was close to signing with Nebraska. Who really knows what is going on.

Why would he admit it, while he’s still coaching another team. That’s obviously where his heart is, if we miss on Kelly , time to throw everything at Norvell.

Lol, who knew?

Did anyone really think Neb AD had negotiated a contract before he fired his current coach?

If they want a bigger standalone football facility, what they should do is take half (or more) of the parking lot behind the track to combine with the original land allocated. It could be one contained and massive facility.

Then just add another parking garage north of the one that's there at the O-Dome and/or behind the Law school next to Springs complex. You'd lose about 80 spaces but gain far more. Then they could make the smaller remaining lot reserved only for personnel that need to park by the Football/Basketball/Track facilities - and the Springs/Keys kids w/ cars can just walk a little farther some days.

That's about what the original plan was only you are extending it more.

In any case, they changed their minds and decided to build it over the torn down baseball stadium. It makes sense to put it there because you can have more frontage along the practice fields, a simpler building and better parking. But if CK is forcing them to promise it be done by fall of 2019 then they have to rethink the plans that they've probably spent months working on. There's going to be push back and would explain the delay.

They should just move the f'ing track to someplace else. It's taking up a lot of valuable prime real estate. This is playing out that we don't get the #1 coach in the country, because we can't build a football facility, because the f' ing track is in the way.

So no one is "in play" yet. Stricklin may be setting up for several coaches, yet not moving on any until they have finished coaching their active teams. That has the ring of ethics to it.?
If Kelly is so obvious to us, what's it say about our AD if he didn't see CK as a right-away quarry? Might we see how quick Striklin can close once Dec 3rd activates him?

And Stricklin can't be crucified for missing on Kelly unless Kelly returns to CFB for a lesser school with a lesser offer, especially if the Kelly-goal was never available for SS to convince. We've worked ourselves into a pirahna feeding frenzy over gossamer hope.

He thinks he can command 6 mil a year. Maybe he can w aTm and Neb bidding for him. We will see. I dont see us paying him that much.

Well surely Stricklin can talk in generalities about these building plans without having to betray coach hiring privacy matters. That would be a positive towards a turnaround-feeling that would please all fans and any prospective HCs too. Do you reckon Stricklin is unaware of how "way-down-the-road" we've gone on Kelly?

There’s no doubt we won’t pay that much for him. Hell, doubt we’d go above 4 mil for him.

@rtimjansen: Just confirmed Kelly is done deal just adding language to contract to protect NFL money. In addition, background checks on his assistants have to b approved b4 Kelly signs the deals. He also has language on his control of the team.

@rtimjansen: #kelly florida. Sources confirm Randy Shannon has been guaranteed a position at UF even if Kelly does not retain him as an Assistant coach. Very smart decision. Players really like him.

Hope this pans out to be true. But I've been saying all week that there has been NOT ONE denial from Kelly or anyone close to him.

This guy's background would indicate that he may in fact have sources on the Kelly side of this equation - namely Kelly's agents.
