I hope Eason coming in for a 2 day visit does not chase Frank's away like Mike Davis/Keith Marshall.

I fear it may but with recruiting you have to kick your feet up and enjoy the ride. This is a business decision for all interested parties.

I myself am not fond of going after more than one highly touted QB each class after all the transfers we've had over the years.

I'm not surprised by this at all... here you are a big time QB who commits and 2 days later they are looking at somebody else... I wouldn't like that either TBH.

Best way to evaluate a QB is to compare to other QBs' performances.
But what other QBs have the same OL problem that poor Treon has ?
Well, Will Grier had that same OL, but with even less experience. Best
place to compare from whence comes the "had to make it throws" would be
those 4th down completions = do or die situations. Grier (or another QB?)
found his receivers and fired completions at a high success rate. Success
rate on routine throws is non-existent with Treon. Same OL as Grier.

Now don't give this post that "Grier nut swinger" crap. This was a valid
comparison using another QB with the best equivalency team - saying
another QB could do better = quite possibly a backup should be given
a chance ?

FSU's QB (another QB comparison) was chased like hell when he fired
a TD pass across the flow. His stretched-out body angle made him shorter
than Treon.

Thus, the problem is failure at coaching up a backup QB to be better than the
QB our offense is failing with??

That was my first thought. Although it's juxtaposed. I wanted Davis, not Marshall. Here I'd take Eason over Franks.

man, usually i dont get all worked up over this recruiting stuff b/c its just a bunch of immature 17 year olds, but if we end up with another marshall/davis scenario i might lose it. We MUST get a good qb this cycle, we CAN NOT not get one!

I understand we need the best and when the no 2 QB says he wants to visit you listen and if he signs good if he doesn't gatorbait!! The same goes if the no 1 QB comes calling. But I do understand coach Mac has to make sure not to put all eggs in one basket.

It's pretty ironic Frank's "Not Good" comment about Eason visiting, and at the same time he has an in home with Miles and Cam. We won't get both of them, I hope we get one.

It sounds like Eason's trip is to check out the campus and to check a box to solidify his decision. I personally don't think we have a shot with this kid.

I wouldn't be so sure that this kid isn't giving us a long hard look. At first glance it doesn't seem a kid from Washington state would be remotely interested in us. Then remember where Mac started his coaching career. He probably has a good reputation in that area amongst coaches. I believe Mac probably made contact with Eason while he was still at CSU and this kid might be looking at what he did with his QB last year. I'm sure he saw what Grier was able to do earlier this year.
