According to Warchant reporter Ira Schoffel, Florida State officials are looking into revisiting its academic case which resulted in Bobby Bowden having 12 wins vacated.
Bowden ended his illustrious career with 389 wins, however 12 of them became vacated due to a 2009 ruling regarding the improprieties about a music appreciation class.
Inspired by the decision on the North Carolina case, it appears Florida State is contemplating how to get Bowden those wins back.
“We hired a lawyer or two to kind of take a look at it,” FSU President John Thrasher told Warchant.com in an interview. “They’ll give us some advice as to whether or not it will be something we ought to pursue.”

“Look, I think Coach Bowden’s obviously one of the greatest coaches of all time,” Thrasher said. “I still admire him, and he’s an icon. If there’s something there we could do to get those back for him, I’d love to do it. I’d love to do it. So we’ll see.”

“We’re gonna look at it,” Thrasher said. “I asked Stan to take a look at it … whether they’ll take it under consideration (at the NCAA level) or not, I don’t know. But we’re going to take a look.”
Bowden has expressed in the past that he wants the victories back on his record, so the Florida State icon would be thrilled if it ends up happening.
This season, Florida State is 2-4 overall and currently sitting in fourth place in the ACC Atlantic.
Florida State plays at Boston College on Oct. 27 in an 8 p.m. (EST) matchup on ESPN.
