Anyone not living in the DC area, Wall Street or the oil areas could tell you that. The job situation is as bad as ever they got the numbers down with that bs about not counting someone who hasn't actively looked for work for 4 weeks because they are frustrated.

Now, if someone would just tell NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN and the White House.

Well Gee neither is doing very well so taking any credit for a "improved economy" is generally not a very accurate thing.

This has always been reported this way. This has nothing to do with the Obama government.

I know. I suspect anybody that has been following this knows this. He is just discovering it. I recall Democrats blasting GWB for "shadow unemployment", underemployment and lower participation, and now Republicans are blasting Obama about it as if it is something completely new.

You're the one that felt the need to go to an pro-Obama site with a bogus argument regarding labor force participation. When you pointed out that the aggregate chart I reports could be influenced by demographics, I pulled out age-specific data that proved my point.

The issue is that the broader measure of unemployment U-6, picks up the millions of workers who have been so discouraged by 6 years of Obamanomics that they are no longer counted in the standard U-3 report. And, while the U-3 report is showing some signs of recovery, the U-6 measure is still very bad.

The underlying problem is that Obama policies (or perhaps you think it is something else) have essentially negated the economy recovery from the recession that ended in June of 2009 that would normally take place.

Bingo. Nothing knew. Anyone paying attention knows that the current situation is much worse than 5.6% unemployment.

For the third time, please explain what Obama policies have lead to higher unemployment and lower participation. BE SPECIFIC please.

Let's see if we can enumerate some possibilities:

Refuses to obey the law and approve the Keystone XL pipeline.

Continues to insist on higher taxes that reduces the opportunities for profit and new business.

Additional regulations on carbon making our country less competitive.

Refuses to lead and propose an increase in the fuel tax, reduction in requirements for new infrastructure and money for road repairs.

These are just a start of things that either the administration supports or things that they should support but won't.

Yeah, they were kicking George Bush around in the run up to the 2004 election for unemployment at 5.4%. Now we have 5.6% (but far higher U-6) and the liberal media are wetting their pants in delight. Praise Obama.

I agree that this number does not pick up the discouraged workers. But this has nothing to do with Obama.

Wow! So, among the sick economy, fast & furious, the IRS scandal, the VA scandal, Benghazi, Obamacare, and numerous foreign policy fiascoes, do you see any Obama responsibility?

If the economy is doing so poorly, why are Republicans trying to take credit for it?

    ~Mitch McConnell~

    ~Rep. Jeff Landry (R-La.)~

Why should Obama be the only liar in Washington?

And to the extent the sorry economy is improving, Obama is the last person to get credit for it.
