Who ever said 250 pounds is okay? I think BMF said that it's better than 240. Of course it is. He also said that he needs to be about 265-275 which is accurate as well.

Your best DEs are about 6'4, 275+ so I'm not sure he'll have the size to excel in the NFL.

But not 6'2, 300 pounds. That's just retarded.
Floyd and Easly were 300 plus and 295 respectively.....If you put your hand in the dirt at 250 your d!ck is also going to get knocked in the dirt more times than less....Harbaugh is watching and so is The Oger....thank God we don't play Bert this year...:headslap:

DTs vs DEs?

I think he's too light for the SEC but that's just me. But you aren't talking about the same position.

Joey Bosa: 6'6 276
Jadaveon Clowney: 6'6 267
JJ Watt: 6'5 289
Khalil Mack: 6'3 247
Cameron Wake: 6'3 263

Please, show me these 300 lb DEs.
3 man front or 4? Pass rush specialist are real pretty until you are getting gutted on 1st and 2nd.....then there are no 3rd's......

Perhaps you noticed a guy named Caleb Brantley next to him .....he's gone.
So Caleb Brantley is responsible for Cece's production?? Please. So this year he has Clark next to him. Brantley isn't that much better than Clark. It's a team sport. Everyone is helping everyone produce ideally. CeCe got his because he's a good player. You're saying CeCe Jefferson is just an average DE?

There are a few at that 295/300 range but most are around 270 it seems. Mack is a LB they just bring up to the line to rush the QB isn't he? Not sure however. I think the ones that aren't LBs are mostly just used situationally if they are in their 250s but maybe there are some every down ones at that weight I am not sure.

If I remember right, Mack plays both DE and LB. I believe that he is the first player to ever pro bowl both those positions in the same year. Special talent.

Go back and watch tape....they played everywhere in a 3 man front.

Everybody knows this. There were times where he had to fill-in at DT. But he's not a DT. He's a DE. One of the things that they've been talking about all year regarding him is that he will not be playing DT this year. He will be DE only.

Sometimes injuries may make you play your safety at CB. That doesn't make your safety a CB.

I've seen the running back sometimes lineup as a quarterback. That doesn't make the running back a quarterback.

252 is good news?

That's pretty light.

I hope he kills it though. I like the kid.

Rex, you totally missed the point. He's listed at 242 on the brand new "updated" roster. So yes....252 is pretty darn good news.

Well color me a little unimpressed that he couldn't sack up like Bullard who did what it took to grow to 295 and play anywhere ask on the LOS....Nothing against CeCe but we could always just blitz a LB like Bama and FSU do because they have 3 big ass maulers on the LOS and not risk bleeding to death 7 and 8 yards at a time......

That makes 300 pounds even more absurd.

Totally agree.

In the spring Jefferson said he was down to around 250, he wanted to get leaner....but planned to get up to 260-ish by the fall. I guess he fell short of his goal. We've played plenty of 250-ish pound DE's over the years and I think he'll do fine. The fact he's only 6'1 makes his weight a little better (vs. a Zuniga, Sherit, Davis....who are all 6'3-6'4 and around 255). I would just rather see our DE's play at 260 or more. Sure, our younger DE's might be 245-ish, but that's fine as a freshman as they'll likely add weight. But our upperclassmen DE's should be bigger. It's really disappointing.

I think Zuniga, at 260, will be our next "Bullard" type so hopefully he'll hold up vs. the run.

I've read that Zuniga has been really frustrated because he has not been able to put on weight.
