Nice story and I think it's more interesting that she's a kicker and all.

But I remember when the homecoming queens were the prettiest girls in schools. Seems like now they've almost made it into a joke award given to just about anyone.

it was always a joke. "we so proud of our daughter for being purty, put a crown on her head and now she is somebody"

btw Stephen King ruined it back in the 70s when they tried to shame Carrie. I think that scared pretty girls for decades after.
