Nice win last night. Not much offense (again) however. Game 2 about to start (3pm Saturday):

Pitching gem lifts Gators to SEC win
The ball fell several feet short of the left field wall, but all that mattered was JJ Schwarz made a solid connection.
Schwarz’s sacrifice fly would bring home the lone run of the night, as the No. 11 Florida baseball team claimed a 1-0 series-opening win over No. 5 LSU on Friday night at McKethan Stadium.
“I thought our approach was better,” UF manager Kevin O’Sullivan said. “And I thought we hit the ball as good as I think you could against Alex Lange.”
In a battle between two of the nation’s top pitchers — Florida’s Alex Faedo and LSU’s Lange — the Gators (15-8, 1-3 SEC) struggled to string together hits early. Meanwhile, the Tigers seemed to have little trouble making contact with Faedo’s pitches.
The Tigers (17-6, 3-1 SEC) scattered four hits off Faedo in as many innings, but both teams continued to leave runners on base.
“Alex pitched good. But he needed to,” O’Sullivan said of his ace. “He needed to match Alex Lange pitch-for-pitch.”
Florida had a chance to take the lead in the fifth inning, but the Gators came up empty despite having the bases loaded with no outs.
After giving up six runs on just four hits in a 14-3 thrashing at the hands of Auburn last weekend, Faedo was back to his usual ways.
The junior right-hander gave up seven hits with no walks while holding LSU, ranked No. 2 in the SEC in team batting average, scoreless.
“Sully challenged me a little bit and he wanted a good outing,” Faedo said. “I can't give up those bad outings anymore to start series off. It was a nice one out there, putting up a lot of zeroes and getting the W."
