I'm sure there is some validity to some of the rumors, but no one put any to bed. It was allowed to roll. I'm sure there were calls, those calls became contracts, and they still want to look at the field to make sure they are getting the best bang for the team. Although I would be 100% elated with either Chip or Frost, I think Stricklin is doing due diligence and allowing is fans to help him keep his search incognito.
