Good news is Charlie will be available.......around mid October next year. Bad news is we need a coach now. No big loss, Strong will be to Texas what Muschamp was to UF, only they won't wait 4 years.

I like Doc Holliday, I really do. But he's never even been a coordinator. He was a position coach and recruiting specialist. I don't know why the Mushchimp dead-enders are calling him a bagman but I've certainly never heard that. He has had a mediocre record at Marshall. I would expect the same at UF. The biggest problem with him is you have to hire a great OC AND DC because he is neither. Then you must keep them (or fire them if they fail). Tough road.

And he's old. Foley hasn't hired an old guy yet.

Have to tell you, while I think they're both moot, I see a lot more success with Holiday than I do with Shanahan.

He was a solid part of our defensive staff during some of our best years, and since, has proven to be a pretty good head coach as well. Certainly not my choice, but not completely "panic mode" either, imo. Just kind of mehh,

While he is not a top choice for me, I don't understand the hate. Isn't his team undefeated AND ranked in the top 25. Currently Marshall is a better football team than UF. That's a shame to add to Muschamp's resume but it still is very much a credit to Doc.

I don't know where "here" is but Dixie County is undefeated, not far from G'ville. Go Bears!!

Have heard multiple stories about Holiday over the years from players and coaches. Even heard Jose Rose on WQAM relating a story on the air years ago. I don't know the facts but there seemed to be a hell of a lot of smoke back then. Was actually pretty amazed when he got a head coaching gig.
