He's a freshman that didn't hurt his team either, unlike our 10th Year transfer
When a play isn't there he throws it away instead of forcing it is just one example, now Apple fritter wasn't solely responsible for the loss or even all the ints, but hurts(lol) showed way more poise under pressure than Appleseed, imo

I didn't mean to say u were, my comments were more of a comparison of composure, while hurts has the superior supporting cast, he is still a true freshman, while with our weaker supporting cast AA experience should have helped him,but really didn't exist, for the most part. Sorry if it sounded accusatory, not intended.

I am worried about that as well, but then again... he should be confident he can beat the other guys out and not afraid of competition.

    Saw this on another board:

Clemson OT Jake Fruhmorgen may transfer to UF.

He was injured mid-season and missed the rest of the year (he was a starter). Kid is from Tampa and of course, we didn't get him.

There's apparently some smoke to this. He may be able to get a waiver to play immediately.

We still can't take grad transfers. I think we are fighting that fight behind closed doors though

    He's not a grad transfer right? I think he's only a sophomore.

I hope they're working the grad-transfer issue...but this kid is a sophomore and a straight transfer, that's why I mentioned the waiver (so he can play immediately vice having to sit out a year).

    That would be great!

I don't understand how he'd get a waiver though? TJ McCoy transferred to us from NC State as a true freshman (Can't remember...but I think he was an early enrollee there and hadn't even begun his freshman season) and still had to sit out a year despite his transfer being due to his Dad's illness.

Under what premise would this guy get a waiver?

McCoy was a true freshman that received a waiver, but he was a true freshman so they redshirted him.

You can get a waiver for "family" issues (say your dad is sick and you want to get closer to home to visit him regularly).

Oooooh ok. Getting it mixed up. Heard about someone else and just assumed this was the same guy people were talking about. Would love to get him

Gottcha... I didn't think he got the waiver... But guess I didn't really follow him that closely since they went ahead and redshirted him and I wasn't expecting him to play last year anyway.

So... I'm guessing this guy is transferring because he lost his starting job after getting hurt... BUT may have something else going on with family or something that makes him think he'll qualify for a waiver.?.?.

I'm not sure....not even sure if the rumor is confirmed. I read he wasn't concerned if he lost the starting job, just wants to get closer to home (if this is even true).

This articles talks about family issues.
    http://www.tigernet.com/story/football/Good-news-injury-front-Fruhmorgen-personal-issue-15327

He also had a hurt shoulder. I don't think he played in 2016. He may be able to request a waiver based on family. He may also argue that he already sat out 2016

Based on that article, I don't think he sat out the whole year. Looks like it was around the week of the Pitt game and they were having to replace him as starter... Not 100% sure but that's the way the article read.

The NCAA is not especially kind nor friendly to student-athletes with its rules and interpretations. This kid needs to transfer immediately ... and obviously we'd be very happy if that was to Florida ... and then apply for a family-related hardship waiver.

If he stays at Clemson while applying for a waiver, it just reduces the strength of the argument that the family's medical condition is a compelling part of the decision.

Until we START actually landing some of these supposed coups, I'm going to assume that the answer is NO... Working under the "it's never gonna happen" assumption is much easier on the psyche than being jilted time after time after time after time again...

Tampa (plant) athlete and USC commit Juwan Burgess looks like he'll be visiting soon.

The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect finally gave a commitment to Southern California back in August after it appeared the Gators, and Miami, were not ready to accept his pledge at the time.

I don't know why people hate the east title thing. Filll that stadium up with every title we have. I'm still pissed they took down the first in the SEC in 84-85 stuff. Should also claim the 84 national title.

Because the goal isn't to win the division. It feels like a participation trophy and makes it seem like the bar has been lowered; I don't consider winning the East a successful season personally.

Im fine with saying "we won" the east but this whole "east championship" thing pizzes me off b/c its just some made up crap. There's only one championship associated with this conference, and it isn't yours unless you earn it in Atlanta.

Our HC should make the news-videos expressing his opinion that supports the student-athlete as much
as reasonable. Mac should make a splash as the coach that stays on the side of student-athletes; that
would be Mac having an all-encompassing view of recruiting favorability.

David Waters just said on twitter that the reason we haven't landed DT Tyrone Truesdell is because Mac & co are slow playing him and aren't ready to accept his commitment. They believe they can land some bigger fish. Smh...unbelievable! We are depleted at the position with 2 subpar DT'S coming back and they are slow playing kids? Wtf are these guys thinking? I mean why not take his commitment and then "IF" (and it's a big IF) we do land some better process him out? We need all the help we can get at DT right now and by them not taking his commitment is just another glaring example of this staff's incompetence!

I hope this isn't true. This kid should be a priority, especially since we lost the earlier commits. Even if a higher ranked kid comes along later, figure it out, DAMMIT! Makes no sense!
