Leatherwood was supposed to fly out of Orlando to Pensacola but instead an Alabama GA was there to meet him and told Alex that he was directed to pick him up and take him to Tuscaloosa. Leatherwood stayed at the GA's house in Orlando on Monday night and the deal was closed. The reason some we're still holding out hope was Leatherwood's transcript hasn't been submitted yet so he wasn't supposed to report to Bama until Saturday. .
Sounds almost like kidnapping

Had a twitter discussion with Zachary about Leatherwood. Bottom line is that he was going to flip and Bama called him 40+ times to convince him to stick. UF coaches could not call because it was a dead period. Bama could because he signed a FA with Bama so the are exempt from the dead period. UF doesn't do FAs only written offers of admission.

To add to the previous post... if UF had sent him a written offer of admission (I don't know if they did or didn't) and he signed and sent it back then UF could contact him during dead period. So two questions.

1. Did they send him a written offer of admission? If not that is a HUGE mistake.

2. If they did... why couldn't they get him. To sign if he wanted to be a Gator? You can sign with multiple schools... seems like a miss on the staff to not push and get that done.

Have to wonder why they didn't send him one prior if they had a chance and get him to sign and fax back just in case... seems like the staff was late again.

He should have had a copy of those papers sent to his house and his school every week for the last 2 years.

Just saw on twitter (in ATX's convo) that they tried to get him the paperwork but he said no thanks on his visit. He then changed his mind.

Take it for what it's worth.

Ps- followed you on twitter ATX ;)

It all comes down to he didn't want to be a Gator. If he did he would come here. It was his choice...end of story

I'm sorry, but Saban would have found away to get him the paperwork to the UA game. The game was 2 hrs from campus and someone could have sat in the stands and made a paper airplane to throw at him.

I know a guy who knows a guy who is having an affair with the first guy's wife and 22 year old daughter who is friends with another girl that she went to high school with who knows the mascot at that school who is having an affair with a rival school's mascot who knows a lady in their neighborhood who has a dog that goes to the same dog grooming place as the very first guy who knows everyone else that Leatherwood saw on these very message boards that WE called him LEATHERFACE so THAT is why he is going to Bama.
