Looks like they weren't slinging it around 2 well in Tally in Jimbo's 2nd year either. 20170622_102108.png
All QB'S (and Parker) combined for a total of 2506 passing yards.

Now let's take a look at Mac's QB'S
20170622_102044.png
Appleby & Del-Taco combined for a total of 2805 passing yards. :scratchchin: If we get the running game going and have the same amount (or more) passing yards this season we'll finally see the offense take off! :chomp:

We are national championship bound this year it looks like.

Saban only had 171 yards a game passing in 08 (his 2nd season) on his way to losing the SECCG (Mac was the OC). Saban (Mac was the OC) won it all the next season. Mac had 215 yards a game passing in his 2nd season as HC crushing Saban's 171 yards a game. Mac appears to be way ahead of schedule with the passing game.

Christian Ponder ended up a 1st round draft choice. I don't think anyone on our roster last year (year 2) will even get drafted!

Hold on...who was on that Bama defense? Cody, Mcclain, Arenas, Hightower, Dareus, Barron?

Offense? Julio Jones, Mark Ingram? Solid o line?

The team is littered with NFL talent.

Mac's extra 44 yards passing a game last season over 08 Bama was more of difference than the fewer yards that 08 Bama defense gave up than our 2016 defense so Mac appears to be set going forward.

I would tend to agree if he was replacing defensive studs with studs. On paper it does not appear to be that way per the % of blue chippers. It's at a recruiting low. Not sure how you can even go there.

WHile it needs to be played out...there's no way you can compare this D to that Bama team or even any recent Gator team.

And will go down as one of the all time worst draft picks...that was a pick done by an absolute terrible organization that panicked when a bunch of other QB's got drafted. Jimbo should not get credit for the Vikings being a bunch of ****ups

....and yet, still a 1st round draft pick. The point is he developed into a very productive college QB. Was Tebow a bad draft pick? If you ask anyone beside a Florida Gators fan the answer is 90+% "yes". But the point is, he (Tebow) was a very productive college QB. This thread is silly, stupid, pointless (well, it makes a bad point).

Under Mac, we already have gotten some highly rated defensive guys and more importantly Mac has addressed depth needs. He also evaluates under the radar guys well. He wants a certain type that fits his system which is more important than taking guys who don't fit just bc theyre ranked high.

Yes Tebow was a terrible draft pick and...love what he did at UF but take the orange and blue glasses off and you would see a guy without the mental game for the NFL. You also have to take college production with a grain of salt...it takes a completely different set of skills to succeed in the NFL and that's why there are only a handful of stars, a handful of good QB, and the rest of the league trying to find one of the other 2. Point is that the only QB that should have ever been a 1st round pick was Winston and now because the idiots in MN and BUF drafted 2 horrific QB's in Ponder and Manual, jimbo is suddenly a QB whisperer.

He also produced the dud (#1 pick) from LSU. As much as we all want to disparage Jimbo and more so, FSU....the fact is the guy can coach QBs. In fact, he's arguably the best QB coach in college football (numbers don't lie). I hate the guy, but he's produced very productive COLLEGE QBs. And because those college QBs play at a high-level P5 school they tend to be top NFL prospects. Sure, 3 of his 4 1st rounders have been duds....once they leave school they are no longer "his", they belong to their new coach - the NFL coach.

My point is this thread is stupid. Talking sh*t about Fisher's QBs? That's just stupid. He beat us w/ McGuire and a redshirt freshman twice (last year - and Jameis). He's an *******, but he has a proven track record of developing QBs. Period. You can't argue it. The kid he has there now (Francios?) looks like he's going to be a good one too. Dammit.

Bama has the "tightest" hold on football powerhouse tradition. It gets them the by far the highest # of the very best players. Now that "ought" to lead to annual appearances in the NC game - it does. But it does not lead to multiple undefeated seasons. What would Dabo do if he repeatedly got the high % of top players that Sabanal gets?

I'd say recruiting the top players is the key to the treasure box. Mac has to hurry to figure out the best recruiting Powerpoint Program. Make our University School of Advertising & Marketing assign students to produce a promo-packet as a final-grade assignment. Then let the sharpest members of our sports administration draw out the best approach ideas and form them into a script all recruiters should memorize
far enough ahead of recruiting season so it doesn't sound rote. This especially should have imput on social media "badness".
