So now that Billy loses an assistant, does this open the door for Anthony Grant to come back?

Probably so.....but, ESPN immediately got on the there is no Black coaches in the Final 4 wagon. So don't be surprised if someone hires him so they can say they have a black coach. I think he'd be better off being an assistant for a year or two and regroup.

I doubt he returns. He needs to regroup by becoming the head coach at a smaller college which is more manageable. I think he'd only return to UF if he didn't want to be a head coach again in the near future.

Congrats to Matt. He rose up the ranks quickly. Logical replacement would be Grant, but I still think some team hires him as head coach.

Then again he Pelph and Billy were a great trio and it might help him remember how to win hanging with Billy again. It would not be the worst hire for Fla or AG. They say you cannot go home again but that was just someone that was miserable at home.........home is where the heart is

Why's that? You don't think he's good enough to be a head coach?

I would not be surprised to see him come to Florida. Pelphrey did it and they seemed to have pretty much the same success as a HC in the SEC. Grant did not succeed at Bama so he either goes back to a small school or works for Billy and with another good friend.

Awesome!

This is another positive sign that BD is staying this year.

I agree... it is doubtful he goes anywhere after hiring in his friend. Very happy to have Grant back

Oh I see. The story about Anthony Grant was in a thread about someone else. Well whatever.

Good pickup but I doubt it gives any clue as to what will happen with Donovan. I think he may try the NBA if gets an offer from a team that is close to being a true contender talent wise.

He's not going at this point. He obviously may go in the future, but he's not going to go and leave the program in a lurch after all the other programs have filled their own vacancies, etc. He would totally leave us scrambling and Donovan isn't going to do that.
