if this is true, and UF does have a lot more practice time before playing, it seems that the near unanimous opinion that Grier is clearly UF's starting quarterback is wrong, at least not in McElwain's eyes, and his opinion is the only one that matters. I just don't know how much you can learn from playing an awful team like New Mexico State. The question of who is UF's starter could linger on longer.

This isn't a surprise at all. McElwain keeps saying he wants to see what happens when the bullets are live. I wouldn't be surprised to see this continue through the ECU game and possibly the UK game if nobody really emerges.

Of course... contrary to what our resident troll "JoeBlows" says... a starter can emerge against New Mexico State. You still have to hit the open receiver and make the right decisions.

The season may start out with two QBs but I'm confident that Grier will emerge as the number one. BUT I think he(Coach Mac) will always keep Treon as a situation back. Will probably see more than a few times...both will be in the back field.
