If Mac were to have been asked to do or done something like this on his own, he would have bumble phucked his way through it. You can only Hee Haw so much before you get turned off. Mullen understands what we want.
Wait, so nobody, so far, has convinced Dan he's a totally wrong for the program? Careful, he's showing feiry motivation; that stuff is contagious - so don't let him near our players or any recruits.
Actually, it looks to me as if he knows something ... like that he's going to be a big winner here. Good place to start, good way to start.
Purty kelw, isnt it?
He's RELENTLESS! I think we found the companion word to owned and destroyed?
I mean if nothing else, at least he speaks coherently unlike our last head coach. Still has lots of proving left to do! Such as stealing all the good recruits from FSU!
How did I know
I know he hasn't won a thing yet but a) I don't remember Mac ever putting forth this kind of effort to connect with the fans and b) I don't believe Kelly would have done it either.
Too soon for mento see his face yet.
This is good stuff. I was accepting but not enthusiastic when the hire was announced. He has quickly won me over. He seems to understand that this job requires more than a knowledge of football strategy. Coaching at an elite level is, imo, primarily a leadership challenge.
I met DM briefly on Thursday when he visited a recruit at the school where I work. He was personable and enthusiastic with everyone. I told him I'm a third generation Gator, class of '89, who lives and dies with the team. He looked me right in the eye and said, "Let me tell something, and I want you to hear me. We're going to fix this for you. You have my word."
By contrast, Mac visited the same recruit last year and he had his people arrange with us to set up barricades, security, and a secret entrance/exit so he wouldn't have to see anyone. He seemed put off by the burden of having to be an ambassador for the program.
None of this has to translate into wins, but it's a good sign. He gets it, and he wants it.
I'm in the same boat, he's won me over after feeling eh initially. I'm actually interested in watching film and reviewing HS recruits again. I used to be all over recruiting during the Meyer and early Muschamp years but completely lost that drive over the last few years because I knew it didn't matter in the end. You knew these kids weren't going to get coached up and that we would end up wasting talent. I'm excited for football again, don't let me down coach!
Mullen winning over Gator Nation. In Mullen we Trust baby!!
We're forgetting that Mac did a number of fan-friendly things in advance of his first season. That was before he f*cked up everything. Mac's downfall was extreme arrogance juxtaposed by an alarming thin-skinnedness.
Man this says it all right here. What a welcome change.
What is this supposed to do for me? Get me excited. You know what would really excited me? Blowing out Charleston Southern 0-60. Everything else is just talk and hype. We did this with Chump and Mac. I'm not doing the buildup again. I care about results, not dumb videos.
Sorry you caint see the difference in what we got now and what we just got rid of, day and night to me.
Some simply love misery and are looking for company....
