Florida coach Dan Mullen and Athletic Director Scott Stricklin have been dragged into a lawsuit involving an Ole Miss booster and the NCAA.

Rebel Rags, the clothing retailer that made headlines in the fall by filing a lawsuit against Mississippi State players Leo Lewis and Kobe Jones along with Lindsey Miller, Laremy Tunsil’s former stepfather, has filed suit again. In a suit filed Tuesday afternoon, Rebel Rags, owned by Terry Warren, filed suit alleging defamation, civil conspiracy and commercial disparagement against seven defendants. The defendants listed are Jones, Lewis, Miller, Mullen, Stricklin, NCAA investigator Mike Sheridan and the NCAA itself.

The news was first reported by Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman.

The lawsuit alleges that Mullen, Stricklin and others were involved in a conspiracy with Sheridan and the NCAA that ultimately harmed the store when it was named in Ole Miss’s Notice of Allegations from the NCAA.

According to The Clarion Ledger, Stricklin’s attorney released a statement, saying “Simply put, the claims against Mr. Stricklin are wholly devoid of merit and there is simply no good faith basis in either law or fact for Mr. Stricklin to have been made a party to such a case.”

Mullen was the coach at Mississippi State from 2009 until 2017, and he recruited both Jones and Lewis to Starkville. Both players were named as witnesses in the NCAA’s case against Ole Miss, and Lewis appeared at the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions hearing for Ole Miss in September 2017.

Yes, I'm certain that there was a vast and far reaching conspiracy that hurt the Ole Miss brand and not, say, organized cheating by the staff and a head coach that managed to combine moral turpitude with ineptitude in obscuration all while wrapping himself in smug sanctimony. Yes, it must have been the former AD and head coach of your rival. #onlyintheSEC

FIFY.

And Ole Miss is just as guilty as the last person that used that phrase.
