An amazing day. I've been to the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor a couple of times and it never fails to get to you.

Not directly related to December 7th, but to me the most memorable thing about visiting Pearl Harbor was touring the Mighty Mo Battleship and standing on the surrender deck where MacArthur and the Japanese signed the papers. Pretty powerful stuff IMO.

My wife's grandfather Lt. Commander / Pearl Harbor survivor. Was on board the USS Honolulu at time of bombing. Served in the Pacific “theater” and Korean War. Served on the air craft carrier - USS Hancock.
    Nov 18, 1920 - Aug 7, 2004

an enlisted guy, lying about his age ……said he was 18 but was only 17 when he went in …… apparently lied about his flat feet and that he was a sleep walker too ….. but managed to get in and survive it all ……married his wife and kept that a secret too, because he was not supposed to be married.

To all those that serve and have served - THANK YOU for all you give, for all you sacrifice.
