The NBA is basically a clown show in the regular season. The players are hardly Rafael Nadal playing at full tilt from beginning to end. They don't play defense and only get serious in the last half of the fourth quarter. Also the players are more interesting in making highlight films than cooperating as a team to win the game. The real season only begins in the playoffs where the top tier teams tend to rise to the top unlike the NCAA playoffs where underdogs can make a valid run at the Championship A lot of folks believe the NBA is fixed even in the playoffs. I don't buy that theory but sometimes even in the playoffs the ref's seem to favor the home team to guarantee parity that will result in stretching the games played to see who advances.
That being said I still got a kick out of seeing the so called Big 3 superstar Miami Heat go down in flames to a team headed by a gifted head coach and team+bench oriented NBA franchise like San Antonio Damn, the Heat were tied 1-1 with the Spurs before San Antonio reeled off 3 straight one sided beat downs. I don't believe a defending NBA Champions ever suffered 3 lopsided losses in a row the next year in the playoffs.
