Is not the option JD's strength?
the only thing JD does well since high school is run the ball. He couldn't make an option read or smell a blitz on a bet. He has no feel at all in the pocket for the rush. Last year when he was injured, it was because he was just standing there while the pocket collapsed etc....

I like Jon Gruden
Gruden's not going to coach some college team where he has to hold hands with a bunch of HS primo donas.

Butch Davis. The guy can flat-out coach. He assembled one of the best teams of all time at Miami. He won at North Carolina, and look at them since his departure. Bottom line, he can recruit, he can coach, has loads of experience.
When Davis gets out of prison he'd probably be an ideal candidate.
Is he in prison?

It's not a matter of if Gruden wants back in coaching but when. He's referred to the UF job as a great one. Just throwing it out there.

Well, he did win a Super Bowl. That's a pretty decent thing to have on your resume.

Like 12 years ago with one of the best defenses of all time. I mean Bill cowher won a super bowl , Mike shanahan and they are employed. What makes gruden any more attractive than them?

You said you didn't understand the infatuation, and I explained why. He won a Super Bowl. That's a fact. Right or wrong, that means a lot to a lot of people.

For what it's worth, my take is that we obviously have problems and just getting to a bowl may prove problematic. Once/if Foley pulls the trigger on this debacle (his doing mind you) he simply cannot afford to go the unproven coordinator route and will probably skip the hot shot "small school" type of coach. It almost has to be a proven guy at a big program. Remember, Saban went to LSU from MSU after he had a nice little run there. How sad is it that we would all be drooling over getting MSU's coach right now..

A program being run into the ground day by day, game by game..............
We wouldn't like Michigan State's coach. He runs a power offense focused on running the ball. He has done a good job there at MSU, but we want somebody who is going to throw the ball all over the field.

I'd be embarassed if we even talked to Petrino. I don't want that dirtbag representing UF.
