This sounds really dumb. Coaches get fired or demoted all the time so whats the big deal? Is this a race thing?

This story is a nothing burger. They guys still works at LSU. He will certainly mend fences with the high school coaches in New Orleans. Even if he could not mend fences or LSU fired him outright and he did not want to mend fences lots of New Orleans prospects would jump at a chance to go to LSU.

I think that far too often in recruiting people think it is the players that are scarce. Well outside of a few special guys each year, there are a whole bunch of good high school players who average 10 yards per carry running the ball or 20 yards per catch receiving or have great QB stats or have a bunch of picks or have the right speed and size characteristics. So more often than people think it is the offer from a power 5 school not the player that is the scarce commodity. That is why coaches at particularly top power five programs are very careful with their offers.

So now high school coaches believe they can bribe university's into hiring or retaining who they want? What about the kid's best interest? Good job New Orleans, that $hit hole of the country never seems to disappoint. They'll be looting $hit before nightfall tomorrow.

 They need to grow the hell up. A head coach gets to decide on his coaches responsibilities and they can resign if they don't like it. I doubt this would affect recruiting much with the pull LSU has in that state. Family pressure and the players thoughts obviously are bigger than coaching pressure.

We discussed this in the chat a few hours ago. That RB coach conveniently got hired by Texas Tech after the story broke.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Former #LSU RB coach Jabbar Juluke is returning to the #TexasTech staff as Associate Head Coach/Running Backs.

Sounds like a good fit for a team that throws 70 times per game!
