Lived there for 4 years. Crazy town. Lots of drugs, sex and rocking roll.

Celebrity side. I lived in in Spanish Harlem. I had a huge project housing complex at the corner of the street. Had to walk 4 blocks to the laundry mat. Grocery was 6 blocks away. All of which had to walk through or beside this "celebrity" housing project. You lived on the celebrity side. I was there for six months, 78th and York. I practically subsisted off the pizza by slice store around the corner. Used to jog alongside the FDR, staring the whole way south at the 59th Street Bridge. It was a great place to live and yet it sucked. No in betweens in NY.

The greatest thing every was on 103rd and Amsterdam. It was a store disguised as a "record store". You walked in and it was just a giant plexiglass both wrapped in reggae record cover. There was a small window opening, like a bank teller, and you just ordered whatever drug you wanted. No big deal.Okay, the celebs were a few blocks to the south.
