Baseball is in the midst of what should be the most compelling time of its season. The playoff run. There hasn't been one thread on it on this forum unless I missed it.
I only like baseball in that it is important to my father. I've gone to countless games with him from the time I was a kid to now. I enjoy those experiences, but I could care less about the sport.
A sport where you can interview the manager in the middle of a pivotal world series game bothers me. A sport where the often fat, old managers dress up in the outfits of the players is ludicrous. The amount of games, the size of the salaries/contracts, the new stadiums every year is just overkill. If it weren't for the need for so much TV filler on all these networks, baseball would more of an afterthought than it is.
Lastly what I hate about baseball is its inability to change. The fact that its most compelling part of the season goes into football season is absurd. Keep the Boys of Summer in the Summer and you may have more support with a world series that ends before the NFL/NCAA kick off.
I know this is a Gator forum, but I was shocked to not see one thread yet. (unless you count the recruiting thread). I'm frankly glad of it. So here's your obligatory thread baseball. Your'e welcome.
