Firing our coach every 3 or 4 years is not going to do anything but drag us further down.
Keeping a Dead Man Walking coach 4-6 years doesn't help either. Their recruiting classes just keep spiralling down the toilet.

IE whomever we hired in 2013 would have received a better team than Butters did in 2014.

And Mullinz would have received a worse team in 2019 if we kept Butters an extra year.

Fooley once said "that which must be done eventually should be done now" referring to Zook firing and it is the one thing he has said and done in his career with which I agreed.

How on God’s green earth did you convince your wife to let you TRAVEL to a Gator football game with a one month old baby in the crib. My hat’s off to you, brother Gator. On another note, it must have been tremendously gratifying to sit on that bus while the toothless ones reeled in anger outside .

I was able to go because it was a birthday gift. As far as leaving Knoxville, we had 3 buses from ATL, and had to commandeer a police escort to get a few blocks away from where we had parked. After that, the toothless ones left us alone.

In 1985, the bus trip was to the Plains. Winning TD against Auburn was right in front of us (14-10). It was the "where's Bo" game where he left at half with a bruised thigh. Made us #1 for 1st time ever, only to lose to puppies the next week. The AU fans were much more cordial than the UT fans yr b4.

We got to the stadium almost an hour early and the Vols were already on the field in full pads practicing. They were running lots of plays and drills at full speed for at least 45 minutes that we saw before heading back into the tunnel to prepare for kickoff. Meanwhile, the Gators came out about 15 minutes after we arrived and ran through some warmups and drills dressed in gym shorts and t-shirts for about 20 minutes before heading back in. They looked fresh and loose. The Vols looked like they were having a full on practice session. Because it was still around 85 degrees I mentioned to my son how dumb I thought it was for the Vols to be expending so much energy practicing so hard in the heat right before kickoff. When they went back in to the locker room they looked like they were dragging and came out playing like it too.

I'm glad they decided to work-out before the game. Worked out great for them.

Actually, Butters was lining up a really decent 2018 recruiting class.

It might force the safeties away from the box making it easier for us to run.

For me for this game two plays stand out: The first was the relentless effort by CJ Henderson to catch up with the TE and knock the ball out of his hands, the second the run by Pierce with Jordan pulling and sealing the DB. The first symbolizing the never give up attitude, the second the well drawn, well executed play by the offense. We want to see more of those in the future. Nevermind that the TE should have never been that open :).

While Ivey did great in that play, did you notice #74?, Big Fred, letting his man go? Waany, sealed his man. Now, that did not really affect the play but we can't have these kinds of mistakes. I am sure Hevesy will let him know.:p

Here is a much better job by the whole offensive line but a great pull by Jordan:
