2nd Team WR, 3rd team RS..... forgot to point that out? Pre-Season awards are for potential, post season awards are about production. His only post season award All American return specialist 2015. Obviously you believe we need more of those sub 50 yards receiving games from a #1 receiver.

A junior planning to go pro in August doesn't mean schit in October and November. So you are trusting "our" new trainer from the S&C that got fired. I also said complete back, you only mentioned his running ability to break tackles. Not avoid tackles, not block , etc.... If we was such a great prospect why doesn't listed on any top 25 backs in the NCAA before his suspension. In May the sporting news didn't have him listed in the top 40. Seems you are going off emotion of some fluff articles.

100 meter dash is how we are comparing football players... are you fcking kidding me By that comparison Emmitt Smith would be one of the worst RB's in the history of UF. How did the football careers of John Capel and Jeff Demps? Again using a stat that doesn't mean schit to football to fluff up your point.

So we are saying the potential that he might get the most snaps of an early enrollee could potentially help our team. That is your argument. That a true freshman OT might potentially help the team? Not saying that losing a 4* big boy isn't a blow, but depending on a true freshman OT with a quarterback who held on to the ball too long, or the other one with a pea shooter for an arm wasn't going to change our issues. Telfort wasn't going to start, he might have by the end of the season due to our S&C, but what effect really would he have had against the meat of our SEC schedule?

So a 3* linebacker, was the difference in the defense... really? How many positions does this player play again?

Before you start with emotions, please tell me where in the data is emotion. You seem to take fluff pieces and use emotion to determine their production from potential. But we have had a number of players come through with potential that lacked production. You're break downs are as if you casually watch football, never played, never coached, never cared to learn more than I can drink while watching. Your homerism has blinded you from the product you were watching on the field.

How many rings did Weis have?

Watching someone else be a championship coach has no bearing on what kind of coach his assistants will be.

I was incorrect on that. My bad. The AP votes on it.

Not true on Zook. He was always a transition coach to me. Top tier recruiter but dumb enough to fire.

Losing 3 NFL players alone can make a difference in a close game.

Are you saying that it is impossible to see Mac for the failure he was and still believe that several top players might have made a difference in a couple of close games?

Weis won a lot of games with top developed talent. He like Mac was not good at recruiting and developing talent.

Zero chance. He wasn't going to throw anything but screen passes and run draw plays on second regardless.

I am saying that 3 NFL players could have made a difference in the close games. I agree that he did fail long term. He won with developed talent but did not develop talent well himself or recruit well.

Is that all he did year one? He upset UT and Ole Miss by throwing to Callaway who was missing in the close losses last year.

No slight intended, donkey, but I asked Ox because he is usually rational.

so now you change your argument again. Other than Callaway which of the other 8 are currently on an NFL roster?

No change as it is the same players.
Since you are not objective about talent I show you what NFL experts think (money talks). Harris 6th round and signed, Scarlett is ranked the #6 RB out of 155 backs for the 2019 draft. Callaway 4 th round and would have been higher without moral issues. Callaway himself made a difference in the UT upset as a freshman.

Any objective person would say 3 NFL caliber players added could make a difference in a close game.

The offense stunk the previous years with Scarlett and Calloway so their presence never made a difference in offensive production. Yes, they may have contributed late in some close games, but our defense was in such bad shape, they really wouldn't have made that big of a difference in the win/loss column. We were doomed to have a bad season before the credit cards simply because Muschamp's players were mostly gone and we had a bunch of inexperienced Mac 3 star specials replacing them, not to mentioned the out-of-shape weak players and some of the worst assistants in the SEC on the sidelines. Mac was lucky to win even 4 games last year. With those players and no hurricane they maybe win 5 games. Big deal.

The fact that anyone, including those related to Butters, is defending him as a coach is absurd.

I said he failed as a coach long term and is a terrible recruiter and developer of talent but he was the missing players like this one below who could have made a difference in his close games last season.

Ya know, just when you start to think Byrd isn't all that crazy, this thread happens.
            Sheesh.

You have to admire his willingness to get right back up and be pummeled into submission again.
