Could anyone have screwed up more than NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. By failing to control the league's employees, the NFL has alienated millions of fans which is going to cost the owners, playesr and everyone else some serious money. The Congress is even unhappy enough to be considering eliminating one of the sweetheart deals that let NFL owners extract hundreds of millions of dollars from taxpayers for new stadiums.

Turns out that Goodell is up for a new contract and he is not going to let the NFL's problems that he has caused reduce his expectations. No, he is demanding an increase from $30 million per year to $50 million per plus plus a private jet for life. I'm surprised he is not demanding that the league establish a prepaid trust fund to ensure payments to him in case his mismanagement drives the NFL completely into the ditch.

And people wondered why Jerry is lawyering up to put a stop to it. Of course the sports media thinks this guy is doing a great job.

Probably the only thing doing worse than NFL attendance in the sports world is ESPN viewership and subscribers.

For the life of me I don't know how these owners got so rich. They piss money away like drunken sailors back from a 6 month float. They waaaaaaay overpay coaches, players and Goodell. The guy is a stiffed shirt who is about as dynamic as a toad.

In related news and opinion, every elected government official's salary should be confiscated until this nation's budget is balanced.

    Carry on.

That should tell fans the product is arrogant and over priced. They are really a house of cards if the consumer clicks his remote or finds new interests on Sun/Mon.

Rodger Goodell is the worst and most toxic commissioner I can ever remember in the history of any major team sport and that includes Gary Bettman of the National Hockey League.

Papa John's owner is very upset as are many other advertiser's so the value of the franchises will actually decline in the coming years and this dick wad of a commissioner wants a $20 a year raise for everything else in the NFL is on the decline including player salaries at some point if the owners are making less the players should be making less.

Rodger Goodell going to the ends of the Earth to ruin the great Tom Brady is the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen from a commissioner and over a goddamn football. smh.

So the mainstream media and liberals and Democrats everywhere want Goodell to stay why because he's anti president Trump? Yep.

Crazy stuff when someone running your company into the ground may get a large raise. I think with things going down even worse now the majority of the owners may finally put an end to it soon and Goodell may be gone if he refuses to deal with it. Many stadiums were pretty empty yesterday even more than recent weeks. Its funny they have been reduced to lying about attendance like the Hurricanes used to do all the time.

Perhaps Goodell was planning to ask for the 200% pay raise and backed off when he realized his poor management had run the league into a ditch.

A 200% decrease would be better. Or fired.

Apparently NFL owners aligned with Goodell, folks who were unhappy with excessive attendance at game days until Goodell's brilliant strategy of solving that problem by letting the players insult the flag and the United States military, are now thinking about kicking Jerry Jones out of the league.

Jones is accused of colluding with John Schnatter of Papa John's as well as various Russians to criticize Goodell's mismanagement. Rumor has it that Goddell plans to use league funds and issue a contract of unlimited dollar value to Robert Mueller to investigate this claimed collusion.

Its funny seeing the lefty media printing these stories that lie about NFL attendance not declining which everyone can see with their own eyes but at least the ratings companies aren't fudging their numbers and this week was down a bunch - the biggest down week yet from last season now that the 2016 election stuff isn't affecting numbers.

Yep in past weeks when the lefty media tried to paint the picture the boycott wasn't doing much they would just point to a higher figure and purposely didn't say in the article that last year's matchup wasn't one that would get ratings like the Cowboys. This week was a great comparison because it was the Dallas and NE games in the afternoon and night slots and the ratings tanked 22% and 20% from last season even compared to another Dallas game broadcast.

He has a dilemma. Piss of the majority of his players or piss off the fans. He could have easily found a way for them to protest more sensibly not around the anthem. Have your cake and eat it too. They waited too long. It had too much momentum. They should have nipped it in the bud when it was one guy not hundreds and I agree that is terrible management. A raise, rediculous? But isn't that the same a ceo's who wreck their companies move forward and when finally jettisoned leave with giant parachutes?
