This is what i got. Didn't put a whole lot of thought in it.

1. Will grier- Not world beating but showed some promise in his 6 games .

2. Tyler murphy- Had 2 and a half games where i thought we had something.

3. Austin Appleby- Probably Alabama's favorite Florida qb. Was a turnover machine but had some nice plays here and there. Sad that he's this high on the list, really.

4. John Brantley- wasn't a complete trainwreck with weiss. Threw some really nice screen passes lol.

5. Jeff Driskel- this one was a contest between who didn't stink the worst. I think that the mizzou game was the worst qb performance weve seen at the qb position in this post Tebow era but he had a couple nice games and his w-l record has him beating out treon and franks.

1 is correct. Brantley is probably 2. Who cares after that. They all weren’t good.

I’d probably switch 3 and 4, but overall probably accurate. Some definite “incompletes” in there with both Grier and Murphy. My gut tells me that time would’ve been more favorable to WG and less to TM. There’s also an argument that both Driskel and Brantley were never in the right system, or were mentally destroyed by the time it came around. Personally, I’m of the opinion that neither truly had it upstairs, regardless of offense, and were bound for mediocrity either way. You’re right though. Mizzou 2014 may have been the worst QB performance I’ve ever seen, though self-catch JB had a few doozies of his own.

In general, this feels like ranking the best Eastern European dictators of the 20th century, or Top 5 STD’s.

You know , i toyed with swapping 3 and 4 around but I kept going back to that fsu game Brantleys senior year. He kinda pissed me off. He waited till after he threw 3 or 4 picks to get a concussion.

Man we used to have to wake up and read about stuff like Skylar Mornhinweg finding his missing cleats in Gerald Willis III's locker.

Yep. In retrospect, Willis was trying to do us a solid. A few more pair of cleats and a whistle or three should have been taken...

Trying to think what was the worst single game performance by a QB post Tebow. That Driskel Missouri game might be like mentioned above but Franks game against FSU was pretty bad last year. I wouldnt include any Murphy ones since he was busted up so bad in those games. One people forget sometimes is that Driskel 2012 Georgia game. I believe he was mostly responsible for about 4 turnovers that game and people forget that due to how the game ended.

WG.....He converted more 3rd downs in his 6 games than we as a team have since 2010

Toss up between Applewood, Murphy, and Brantley....These 3 probably did more good than bad although they also had huge momentum killing plays and were clearly overwhelmed when playing real competition.

I would consider Driskel in the momentum killing department but in reality he had a hard time ever getting anything going in the first place......a true 3 and out specialist. Even when he clearly had opportunities to take advantage of his legs he miss read on options and when he had huge lanes to scramble for 1st downs and drive extending keepers he always went the wrong way.....or extended the play just enough to run out of bounds 3 yards behind the LOS....or force one to a wide open safety in the middle of the field

It shouldn’t be legal to put any of those guys names in the same paragraph (much less sentence) with the word “best”.

Driskel also had a real showcase of his turnover skills against Miami in ‘13 and Tennessee in ‘14, as well.
