Top in-state OL to visit the Gators
Florida to get a visit from in-state four-star lineman.

http://florida.247sports.com/Article/Top-in-state-OL-to-visit-the-Gators-103764844

Miami (Fla.) Senior High 2019 offensive guard Dontae Lucas will be back on Florida's campus Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 325-pound four-star prospect last visited the Gators back in April for the spring game. Florida came out of that trip with the lead in Lucas' recruitment, and had some wondering if an early commitment to the Gators could come.

Lucas says he wants to take more time before making a decision, but it's clear the Gators are in a great position currently. Miami, Georgia, Alabama, and others are also after Lucas.

247Sports currently ranks Lucas as the nation's No. 255 overall prospect in the 2019 class.

Not sure what happened, but in the last 4 hours there have been 5 new crystal balls for Curtis Dunlap. All of them are predicting the Gators. This must be what the tweet was about.

These spundips' crystal balls don't pass the pop-qizzes much less the big testes.

TE Kyle Pitts deciding Thursday; 5-star QB Justin Fields visiting Florida?

https://www.seccountry.com/florida/kyle-pitts-justin-fields-florida

Kyle Pitts next?
Another 4-star recruit could join Florida’s class this week.

Kyle Pitts, a 4-star tight end from Warminster, Pa., plans to announce his decision Thursday at 2 p.m. ET. His finalists are Florida, Georgia and Virginia Tech.

The Gators made the cut for the 6-foot-5, 235-pound Pitts after impressing him on his Florida visit in June.

“It was really good,” Pitts told SEC Country. “I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches and a couple players. I like all those guys. Just a great family atmosphere down there.”

Florida is considered the favorite to land Pitts, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 11 tight end and No. 252 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite. If Pitts commits to the Gators, he will be their second 4-star pledge this week and commitment No. 9 for the 2018 class.

Justin Fields update

The visit plans for the nation’s No. 1 dual-threat quarterback this week are still up in the air, according to a report.

Several outlets reported last week that 5-star QB Justin Fields would visit Alabama this Friday for its Champions Cookout.

But on Wednesday, Fields told 247Sports’ Rusty Mansell ($) he was not sure of his plans yet and might visit Alabama, Florida or Florida State in the coming days.

Fields, the No. 3 overall prospect in the country, visited Auburn and Georgia last week and took trips to all five aforementioned schools in June. His decision could come as early as next month.

The four-star defensive back committed to the Florida Gators back in the spring after a visit to Gainesville. The 6-foot, 170-pounder has been on a bus tour for the last several days hitting different campuses around the Southeast. Their tour is expected to make a stop to The Swamp on Saturday.

247Sports currently ranks Stevenson as the No. 178 overall prospect in the 2019 class and the No. 20 cornerback in the 2019 class.

Florida Gators recruiting visitors list for FNL

http://www.gatorcountry.com/feature/florida-gators-recruiting-visitors-list-for-fnl/

The Florida Gators will host their biggest recruiting weekend of the year starting on Thursday in Gainesville. On Thursday the Gators will host an underclassmen camp and that will be followed on Friday-by-Friday Night Lights in the Swamp.

While these camps are going, the Gators will also host a quarterback camp where several big quarterback coaches from around the country will attend to host the camp.

The Gators are expected to host several big time prospects on campus throughout the weekend and GatorCountry will preview the visitors list here.

Big quarterback visiting

Matt Corral (6-2, 196, Long Beach, CA. Poly)
will be making his first trip to Gainesville this weekend when he takes a three day visit to Florida. Corral has said he wants to make a decision before the season starts and his top schools are Florida and Georgia. This visit this weekend is a big one for the Gators.

Commits visiting

Florida will have most of its commits on campus this weekend for the big recruiting event. That includes both 2018 commits and 2019 guys who’re currently committed to the Gators.

Running back Iverson Clement, athlete Amari Burney, defensive back Divaad Wilson and offensive lineman C.J. Dunlap
are all scheduled to visit as 2018 commits.

Representing the 2019 class this weekend will be safety Jaleel McRae, receiver John Dunmore, receiver Maurice Goolsby, defensive tackle Jaquaze Sorrells, athlete Tyrique Stevenson, offensive lineman Andrew Coker, athlete Marcus Tillman and defensive back Trent Whittemore.

2018 targets visiting

This is a huge weekend for the Gators in regards to gaining momentum in the 2018 class and they have a lot of prospects in town to recruiting.

Running back Dameon Pierce and West Virginia running back commit Leddie Brown
are both scheduled to visit Florida. The Gators are looking for a second back to add with Clement in the class. Right now Pierce looks to be a battle between Florida and Georgia. Brown on the other hand is keeping his options open despite his commitment and that is in large part due to his relationship with JaJuan Seider.
The receiver position might be the most impressive group visiting Florida this weekend. The position is led by Jacob Copeland who has been a huge priority for Florida. Florida is battling Alabama for Copeland heading into this visit this weekend.

Receiver Jamarr Chase
was expected to make a decision out at the Opening but didn’t make that decision and now plans to visit Florida. Chase looked to be heading to either TCU or LSU but the Gators are trying to flip the script this weekend.

Receiver Tyquan Thornton
named a top five on Tuesday with the Gators in that group and he will now visit on Friday. Florida and Miami are battling for Thornton at this time.

Tight end Dante Lang
has become a big target for Florida at the tight end position and he’s scheduled to be in attendance. Florida is in solid shape for Lang heading into this visit.

Apopka offensive line teammates William Barnes and Ed Montilus
are both scheduled to visit Florida on Friday night and the Gators are in the lead group for both. It’s a Florida/North Carolina for Barnes at this time but the Gators are hoping to gain more momentum with this weekend’s visit.

The defensive side is also scheduled to have several big targets on campus this weekend and that is led by defensive lineman Azeez Ojulari who plans to be on campus on Saturday. Joining Ojulari as defensive line visitors is defensive tackle Coynis Miller who plans to be on campus for multiple days. Florida State defensive end commit Pat Joyner is also scheduled to visit on Saturday.

One of the Gators biggest linebacker targets is Channing Tindall who will be on campus with his family on Friday night.

Big defensive back target Randy Russell decomitted from Miami and is leaning towards Florida heading into the visit. Russell is a really solid nickel prospect.

Offensive linemen Richard Gouraige and Nick Petit-Frere are also expected to be in town.

Underclassmen visiting

Not only is this a big weekend for 2018 prospects but this is a big weekend for underclassmen as the Gators will have a chance to get a leg up in their recruitments.

Big recruiting weekend at UF

http://www.gatorsports.com/article/...19931/1180?Title=Big-recruiting-weekend-at-UF

The University of Florida’s annual football recruiting event, Friday Night Lights, is expected to draw some of the nation’s top prospects to Gainesville for the weekend. Recruits from across the country arrive as early as today to participate in drills, visit the facilities and meet Florida’s coaching staff.

UF’s “Next Level Quarterback Camp” begins today for signal callers looking to make it to the collegiate level. Recruits will have an opportunity to participate in drills at the indoor practice facility with both UF’s coaches and several well-regarded quarterback coaches from across the country. Campers will also have dinner with the coaching staff, participate in film review sessions and more. Thursday night also will kick off the first night of “Sophomore Night,” an evening of drills and instruction from UF’s coaching staff for more than 100 budding prospects. The event, which runs through Saturday morning, coincides with Friday Night Lights, which should feature several UF commits, highly ranked recruits and many prospects looking for further evaluation from the Gators coaching staff.

Headlining the list of uncommitted prospects is 2018 quarterback Matt Corral out of Long Beach, California. Corral, a five-star prospect and the No. 2 pro-style quarterback by 247Sports, holds an offer from the Gators and will spend three days in Gainesville visiting UF’s campus. With just eight commitments in the 2018 class to date, and no quarterbacks among them, locking up a premier prospect such as Corral could give Florida’s class momentum to secure commitments from more top prospects who have been intrigued by UF’s recruitment of quarterbacks.

Along with Corral, several prospects who have verbally committed to UF’s 2018 class are expected to make the trip to Gainesville. Iverson Clement, the No. 1 running back prospect in the 2018 class from New Jersey, is expected to arrive in Gainesville for Friday Night Lights. Clement will be making his first trip to Gainesville since he committed to coach Jim McElwain and the staff on April 13. In addition, fellow UF commits Corey Gammage, a wide receiver out of Delray Beach, Amari Burney, a defensive back from Clearwater, and Divaad Wilson, a defensive back out of Miami, are expected in Gainesville for the weekend. Randy Russell, a defensive back from Miami who recently named the Gators in his top-five schools, is expected Friday in Gainesville. Russell is one of several recruits on commitment watch for Florida.

All nine prospects verbally committed to Florida’s 2019 class have indicated their intentions to attend Friday’s events at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Florida’s eyes also are focused on the future, as the staff will once again get a good look at arguably the top sophomore quarterback in the nation in Harrison Bailey. The Marietta, Georgia, native is already receiving significant interest from the top programs, and the Gators remain heavily involved in Bailey’s recruitment.

Friday night’s event is free and open to the public.
