Report: Franks ‘upset,’ tells Shannon he’s better than Zaire

Franks is the worst starting QB in the SEC. We are trying to win some games. Start Franks and the scoring streak is in danger. He has been terrible. Not ready for big time football. Maybe next year with a new coach. Go Zaire the rest of the season. Worst thing he did today is not keep the ball on option plays. Could have easily has 100 yards rushing himself

They must instruct our QB’s not to keep the ball on zone reads, there’s been several times this year when Franks could’ve kept it and had an easy 10-15 yard gain. I also love when we run the stretch play into the short side of the field about a half dozen times a game that goes for nothing. Nuss is a freaking moron. Shannon should’ve canned his A$$ and promoted Seider to OC, what would it have hurt?

Sometimes what appears to be a zone read play is actually not. It is a pure handoff and the QB is taught or told to carry out the fake to keep a certain defender occupied.

True, but still after seeing it in film review of game after game that defense after defense doesn’t seem to respect that our QB may keep it once in awhile, you’d think a competent OC would throw that in there a few times a game. But we’d have to have a competent OC first in order for that to happen.
